For sure if your having fun in your free wheeling anything goes lifestyle, why question the character, and motives of those that share it with you.

But you have to accept that your going to attract those, who like you, are just having fun enjoying sex, and are not looking for responsibility through commitment.

If you want to know what's on someone's mind, you sit them down, and ask them.

It's been a long time since I've dated anybody, but have confidence in yourself that you will enjoy yourself! You have friends, so you must be a good friend in return, just think of it that way. You can probably talk well and listen well, two of the most important things, heavy accent on the listen well. He too, will be nervous the first date.

The nervousness will be in the anticipation. Once you actually meet up on an actual date, say you're going to the coffee shop, just keep it light. What kind of work do you do, do you like to travel, etc. People love talking about themselves, so if you open up with simple things, it will only get easier from there.

I love it when the ice gets broken. Once somebody drops their spoon in their soup, or trips over a chair, well, that's the worst over right? Lol I was once with a guy, sitting on a picnic table in a park, and a mosquito flew into my mouth!! I didn't want to spit in front of the guy, so I swallowed it!! I still get grossed out thinking about it. Nothing bad happened after the mosquito.

Just try to relax as much as you can, focus on the positive, and try to get a general idea whether you are comfortable with him enough to go on a second date. Make that not the next day, but the following weekend sort of thing. Take your time. Relationships build, one step at a time.

Think of it as a meal. First the salad, then breadsticks, then soup (watch the spoon), then the burgers, then fries, then eventually, down the road, is the desert!!
