    Hello l:

You can't GET your boyfriend to DO anything. He IS who he IS. You're no different than lots of women, though. They take a good man, and try to CHANGE him. That NEVER works.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?

I am confused over what you really want.

Do you want him to be less shy and more outgoing like he is with his other friends or do you think that you can't have fun together if he isn't your 'best' friend and sharing all of his thoughts and feelings with you?

It really isn't realistic to expect him to tell you 'everything'. You should be able to talk to each other about things that concern you in the relationship, but make sure you aren't expecting too much.

Do you share the same interests? Does he seem less outgoing with what you want to do because it isn't something he has any experience with or interests in?

Be yourself and don't expect him to be anyone other than himself. If you accept him for who he is as a person, he will become more confident in the relationship. Trying to 'get' him to open up sounds a bit like you want to control the speed at which the relationship is developing. Let it grow at its own pace.

I'd honestly enjoy it while you can. A lot of the romance goes out the window when you get comfortable in a relationship, at least from my experience. And yeah, you can't *make* him do anything. The closest you could do would be to change your behavior in a way that would make him feel more inclined or more comfortable being open with you (again, I wouldn't recommend that because I think it would be shortening a special and enjoyable stage of your relationship). But if you were really open with him, he'd probably feel inclined to be the same way with you.
