Trump's H1B visa flip flop ;the reason why ;and the solution
and a bit of Biden crime family corruption.

Trump was against them before he was for H1B visas. Trump had an extended interview with Laura Ingraham this week. They had a bit of a contentious exchange about Trump's reversal on his H1B visa positions.

“If you want to raise wages for American workers, you can’t flood the country with tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of foreign workers,”

“I agree, but you also have to bring this talent,”

“We have plenty of talented people”

    “No, you don’t.”

Some in MAGA are angry because he even used deep state talking points to justify it.

On the surface he has a point. We don't have talent we can immediately tap into to fill jobs. The question is why the urgency?

It is because of the Chinese pulling the plug on rare earth minerals. That leaves the US in a bind. Trump had to go hand in hat back to negotiate with them. Their condition to continue supplying the rare earths is to allow Chinese migrants into American companies to continue their espionage.

How did they get that leverage? You can thank the Biden Crime Family. The Chinese went around the world buying up the industry. They cut Hunter Biden's Bohai Harvest in the deal.

In return Clueless Joe shut down our ability to mine and produce our own. (I am also convinced that is why Joe left Afghanistan abruptly to assure that the US would not be able to harvest Afghan minerals.)

In steps Pete Hegseth and the DOD .... oops now the DOW. Thanks to money provided to the Pentagon in the "Big Beautiful Bill " They are finalizing an agreement they made in July.

In July, the Department of War announced a multibillion-dollar deal involving investments and long-term purchase commitments to buy materials from MP Materials, which is involved with mining rare earth minerals and processing and refining the metals and manufacturing magnets.
The War Department made a $400 million investment in MP Materials' preferred stock, which the company is using to expand its rare earths separation and processing capabilities, as well as its magnet production capacity to better meet the demand from defense and commercial customers.
    In addition:
In October 2025, DOW invested $35.6 million through OSC and the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD (A&S)) to acquire a 10% stake in Trilogy Metals and support development of the Upper Kobuk Minerals Projects in Alaska. Furthermore, on Nov. 3, 2025, the administration announced a $1.4 billion public-private partnership with Vulcan Elements and ReElement Technologies that includes a $620 million OSC loan, $50 million from the Department of Commerce, which secured an equivalent $50 million equity position for the government in Vulcan, under the CHIPS and Science Act and $550 million in private capital.
Other notable actions by the DOW have included $18.4 million to Ucore Rare Metals through the U.S. Army Contracting Command to support construction of a commercial-scale rare earths separation facility in Louisiana, $6.2 million to Golden Metal Resources to conduct a pre-feasibility study for the Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada and up to $10 million to Elk Creek Resources through DPA Title III to establish a domestic scandium supply chain in Nebraska.

We have 3 years to get this done before a potential Dem administration assumes control. How long will it take to get this public -private partnership up and running? 3 years.

The company previously said the new facility is expected to begin commissioning in 2028, at which time MP Materials' estimated manufacturing capacity for rare earth magnets will reach an estimated 10,000 metric tons.
Until then we are dependent on China. By necessity Trump has to compromise on his polices like tariffs and visas. I have argued that in addition to decoupling from China we need to STRENGHTEN our ties with friendly reliable trading partner nations. In my view Trump made a strategic error in taking a strong-arm tactic with them.

The good news is that Trump has learned and adapted.

In the last month he has made bilateral agreements with key trading partners.
(see last link for agreements with Australia, Japan, and other nations)

Trump did not adequately address these issues with Ingraham. Instead, he reverted to deep state talking points about how Americans are too stupid to be able to fulfil the needs of the high-tech world.

But he again adjusted his visa position in response to the negative feedback from the base.
