    I voted
I figured after a week all the heavy early voting would die down . I was wrong. The line extended around the building. Still it was conducted efficiently . It took less than an hour. I proudly showed them my photo ID .

Even though I already know SC is Trump country I am encouraged about the numbers across the country . As I am encouraged by some of the news .

There are reports that Kam canceled over $1,700,000 of reserved television advertising in North Carolina . I was there a couple months ago ;and the tv ads for her were non-stop. I don't know what internal polling is telling them. Either they feel that they no longer need to advertise because they have a lock on the state OR They have decided it's a lost cause and the money would be better utilized in other battleground states .

Real Clear Politics average of the polls has NC as a tight race with Trump having a slight lead .

2024 North Carolina: Trump vs. Harris | RealClearPolling

It also shows Trump with a slight lead in PA .

2024 Pennsylvania: Trump vs. Harris | RealClearPolling

I was hoping for a more decisive result so these contentious disputes of results could end. I think a better Repub candidate would've helped.

Early voting numbers are interesting and spell trouble to the Dems

    Quote:

"As we dive deeper into the data, Democrats are facing a precipitous decline in urban turnout according to their own data experts' and we are tracking an uptick in rural turnout, said the confidential memo by Tim Saler, the campaign's chief data consultant.
Former president Barack Obama's ex-campaign manager, Jim Messina, said on MSNBC that the early vote numbers are a little scary.

What Mr Messina is downplaying is that they are a lot scarier for Democrats. According to NBC News, President Donald J Trump has a 16-point lead (56-40) among voters who plan to cast their ballot on election day. Obama's chief campaign strategist and CNN political commentator, David Axelrod, told CNN that there are no guarantees that voters will turn out on election day for Vice President Harris, the memo said.

According to Democrat data expert Tom Bonier of TargetSmart, in Arizona urban turnout is down -385,285 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -170,011 votes compared to this point in 2020. Rural turnout is up +14,124 votes compared to this point in 2020.

In Georgia urban turnout is down -153,846 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -46,732 votes compared to this point in 2020. Rural turnout is up +171,837 votes compared to this point in 2020.

In Michigan urban turnout is down -321,523 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -204,856 votes compared to this point in 2020 and rural turnout is up +55,951 votes compared to this point in 2020.

Similarly in North Carolina urban turnout is down -175,470 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -154,459 votes compared to this point in 2020. Rural turnout is up +26,911 votes compared to this point in 2020.
In Nevada urban turnout is down -191,199 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -126,112 votes compared to this point in 2020.

In Pennsylvania urban turnout is down -381,519 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -450,802 votes compared to this point in 2020.

And in Wisconsin urban turnout is down -100,733 votes compared to this point in 2020. Female turnout is down -238,452 votes compared to this point in 2020, it said.

US elections: Democrats facing massive turnout deficit, says Trump Campaign | World News - Business Standard

What Dem punsters are saying is that the Repubs are "cannibalizing" their election day vote to get them out earlier and that therefore the Repub turnout today will be less . That remains to be seen.

My own take is that I dislike this type of information being released until after all the polls close. The design behind releasing this is to motivate and /or discourage others to go to the polls today.

That was my problem and why I almost did not cast a vote for Pres.

Do I vote for the one who wants to print 8 trillion more monopoly bucks or the one who ONLY wants to add 4 trillion ? The 2 of them have competed for the last 3 months upping the ante on how many freebees they will dispense.

With both parties warning that this is the most important election EVVVVVAAAAAHH you would think they would take the time to give us candidates worthy of our support .

Well put, Tom. I'm voting for Trump because a vote for Harris is a vote for disaster, but I'm not thrilled about it. I do like his idea for putting Elon Musk in as a sort of efficiency expert to curtail fed spending. A lot of these fed managers need to go...NOW.

There really was no choice , But on the line to vote I alternated humming the lyrics from 'stuck in the middle with you' (clowns to the left of me jokers to the right) and Rush's 'free will' ('if you chose to not decide you still have made a choice')

I would be surprised if a definitive decision is made by the weekend . Since 2000 all the President contenders have "lawyered up" expecting court challenges to the results . It is a national embarrassment that was only broken in the elections of the emperor .

This election by all accounts appears to be too close to call .

It appears to be a Trump win at this point. That is not factoring in the late cheating element.

Going to be hard to call cheat when Trump also won the popular vote.
Donald Trump Set To Become First Republican To Win Popular Vote In 20 Years

As of 5 AM ET Trump needs one of 6 stated not called yet (Kam only leads in Maine ). Still AP and the Slimes has not declared him the winner . He has 51.1% of the popular vote.
She has no path to victory

Next time the Dems should do something better than a campaign about nothing. Maybe the party that allegedly defends democracy should choose a candidate that people actually voted for .

my favorite Kam campaign policy ...... I won't ban fracking I just won't expand fossil fuels .

Harris claims she is not against gas drilling, but campaign member says she won't expand fossil fuel, ET EnergyWorld

It's official now . The Slimes and CNN called it for Trump . That took long enough for them to come out of their denial .

    Scott Jennings on CNN

Nick Adams on X: ""This election is something of an indictment on the political information complex. The story that was portrayed was not true. We were just ignoring the fundamentals." Scott Jennings does a flawless job taking down an entire panel of woke CNN hosts. https://t.co/w2eBJeTi6E" / X

Here in SC we voted massively that citizenship is required to vote .. duh why a vote on that is necessary is beyond me. Locally we rejected a phony what was called a "penny tax" (1% added to sales taxes is not a penny) . This would've gone to road improvement . BUT the state already taxes gas that is supposed to be used for road improvement. Our county gets far less $ in road work than we contribute. The state is slow walking road improvement.

Now I understand the need for the roads. People like me have migrated to the state in numbers that they were never expecting. Home developments have cropped up like mushrooms . My own thought is that developers should contribute to upgrading roads and infrastructure of the areas they are building in .That would bring immediate improvements . It should be part of the approval process . I suspect that there is a lot of pocket lining going on .

Californians voted to reverse some of the Soros backed prosecutor's soft on crime policies . 71% voted for Prop 36 which reversed many of the Prop 47 abuses like slaps on the wrists for smash and grab theft under $950 . Soros backed prosecutor George Gascon lost his seat also .

What about the idea that Trump will bring in Musk to be a sort of federal "efficiency expert" to try and streamline government and eliminate waste?

I hope he does bring all the surrogates into the government . I see roles for Gabbard ; Kennedy Jr Musk . Vivek even Nikki Haley . I also hope he reigns in a very undisciplined Repub House of Reps . There are some members of the coalition that are toxic .

    Good observations.

I thought Harris's concession speech today was the best speech I have ever seen her give. It was clear, concise, and impassioned. Filled with lies? Probably, but still was the kind of words that her supporters wanted to hear.

And more to the point, however, was when she promised to assist the Trump transition team. She had claimed during the campaign that he was going to be a totalitarian, fascist, Hitler-like president. If she really believes that, then why would she assist such a person in becoming the new pres? The answer, I imagine, is that she never believed any of that rhetoric to be true anymore than she believed President Biden was mentally sharp and fit to be the president for four more years.
