Make India great again .
https://www.indiatoday.in/elections/...819-2019-05-23
well he is working on making Hindustan great for the first time
Another authoritarian strongman.
Strongman yes ; authoritarian no .The India leader has to be strong ,surrounded by Jihadistan and China's aggression . He has yet to fully implement his economic programs . When he does watch out . India is the largest democracy in the world and when they lose the socialist restrictions that the Gandhi family prefers they will be an economic power house .
They have MORE people, and hold election, but practice a strict CLASS system. That's great if you are in the elite class not so much if your NOT. Rough neighborhood for sure.
Britain's May just announced her resignation as prime Minister. That's interesting too as we await the next one.
The greatest class (caste) in India are the poor, is it not so in your country. Tal how are your elites doing, not feeding the poor, I bet. one of India's greatest problems is the loss of vultures, pity it isn't so elsewhere.
May's resignation was coming, what else could you do with a rebellious parliament who ignore the will of the people, you have had much experience with that, so some answers please
Look in your own mirror for answers Clete, because one thing the elites have been great at is suppressing the masses, and dividing the classes. You follow in the same mold because somehow you are convinced of your own superiority because your big resource rich island is scarcely populated and hasn't been ravaged and exploited for centuries by a greater force. I guess you were born at a good time and had little opposition to your own migratory conquest.
Count your blessings instead of looking down your nose at those that have endured the worst of humanity.
the people voted for Brexit . May couldn't make it happen . good riddance. There is no institutionalization of the caste system . It lingers socially like many things in our country The breakdown of caste is ultimately the goal of Modi and his party because it wants to form a united Hindu society.
What of the other tribes and nationalities?
I do count my blessings Tal, it is truly a blessing to have been born here and not elsewhere. Which migratory conquest do you speak of, the waves of migrants who came over thousands of years, the incursion of the british, or the current asian incursion. This place is not as sparcely populated as you might think. You see most of it doesn't even support one bandicoot to the acre, so we cannot afford to allow ourselves to be overrun by those huddled masses you think so highly of. If you have endured the worst of humanity you know who to blame
I do count my blessings Tal, it is truly a blessing to have been born here and not elsewhere.
We haven't done so bad being a country of immigrants and huddled masses, despite our bloody history of the worst of humanity. Guess we keep working to do better. Despite rumors to the contrary and all those folks flooding in we are hardly over run. If those elites stop stealing and hoarding the money we could easily be doing better. Everyone not just some.
The interesting thing about the Brexit debacle is no plan B from the peanut gallery, and it remains to be seen if there will be one. Wonder will they just leave the EU and screw the details?
I wish Modi luck with that united Hindi society. Wonder how many non Hindi's he will have to kill, jail, or deport?
got me ;probably a lot fewer than the 2 million killed during the partition .Or the
number killed after the assassination of Gandhi . Or the 660 killed during the Gujarat riots in 1969 . or how about the 164 killed and 600 injured during the Mumbai attack in 2008
Here in the US we have Calexit and NYexit as the middle class exists states controled by the oppressive policies of the Democrat elites .
wonder if Trump is going to ask May about the Steele dossier ,and the Brit role in Spygate when he visits ?
Thanks for reassuring me.
Best explain that blanket statement so I don't attribute the southern migration to the north with the oppressive conservative policies of the south.Quote:

He would probably tell him the ex spy intel officer is a whistleblower against what many think is a lying, cheating, dufus.Quote:

exhibit A :San Francisco is the nation’s leader in property crime. Burglary, larceny, shoplifting, and vandalism are included under this ugly umbrella. In 2017 over 30,000 reports of car break-ins were filed, and the current average is 51 per day. But at least they keep people safe from plastic straws .Quote:

Exhibit B :Quote:
New York City's dwindling middle class has been leaving the city in droves, as the city loses over 130 residents every day according to the latest US Census data.
Comprising 48% of city residents, those with annual incomes between $30,000 and $60,000 are feeling the squeeze from higher living costs, wage stagnation and high taxes that whittle away at disposable income. New York's exodus is topped only by Chicago
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...us-picks-steam
I forget to mention Chi-town that other progressive tyranny .

So where is this mass exodus from the bastion's of progressive tyranny? Even Chicago for all the big city problems ain't in danger of being empty. Nobody in the middle class is making money even with the repub tax cuts, since prices and the cost of living far exceed wage growth. Go visit the mid west if you want to see ghost towns.
[/FONT]
you are out of touch . Middle class income rose last year and will rise again this year . I dont have to go to the midwest to see ghost towns . There are plenty here in upstate NY where Dems have all but abandoned anything but urban areas where they can still extract rent seeking bribe $ from the rich . You are right ,there will still be plenty of government dependent residence in Chi-town . But who will pay for it ?

Illinois GDP growth was 2.2% as compared to the national average of 2.9%. Lets stop nit-picking and go to a larger metric shall we.

I know this was supposed to be about India, but I think you started it.
There is an inability here to stay on topic Tal, inevitably it comes back to the US because you think that is the centre of everything. Do you wonder why there might be a little frustrationQuote:

Nigel Farage leading in EnglandMarine Le Pen leading in FranceSalvini leading in ItalyA global mass awakening is happening and there is nothing that the global elites or their media henchmen can do to stop it. Modi is part of it as well as the Morrison victory .
I can post links too. I was talking about the exodus out of blue states and you give me posts about growth .Yeah I get that corporate hqs are in the big cities . But the people are saying 'good luck moving up cause I'm moving out' .

The only real problem with this is that liberals are moving too ;and like locust they bring their destructive policies with them .
Yes Tom pendulums, it is now swinging to the right after years of leftist crap about climate, and the ME generation, and all those unfortunates someplace else. Where I come from voters said enough, we want jobs, we want reliable cheap power, we want assurance you arn't going to tax everything. The British want Brexit which means less of this leftist crap, the French want the same thing. Right across Europe they realise the cost is too high
My point was Tom that such exodus's happen generationally, and more about conditions and personal preferences than ideology. I know you and Clete see liberals as the cause of all your conservative frustrations, but individuals see personal needs as the priorities. I could very easily say the same thing about the conservative problem. You know good and darn well a few million a year leaving these big old megacities is a drop in the bucket over the time they have been megacities. These mega cities attract millions themselves seeking fame fortune and money all the time. What rural folks don't dream of something other than cow manure? Come on, give me a break, that's like taking a snapshot of the sun and claiming the rain is bad.
I will agree that globally you conservatives and ultra righties are reeking havoc right now but as Clete says that pendulum is swinging and you have it on your side so enjoy it and try not to let your heads explode when it swings back. Until then I will seek to survive all the righty crap as I have before. You guys have the ball so let's see you fix stuff you claim we screwed up.
Coming Soon Right Wing Social Engineering!
PS. Let me know when NY Chicago or any bastian of liberal policy and control fall down.
PSS.
You would probably do better getting a plan together to deal with mother nature blowing your stuff away.
If you live where the wind blows you have to expect stuff to be blown away, but you should be spending more money on wind control, particularly in Washington.
Tal, my frustration is with people who see an urgent problem in everything, when in fact, if they wait a while the problem will go away. I don't think liberal is the right definition of leftist. I am liberal in my thinking, freedom is important, but I don't think taking OPM is the way to get things done. People are reasonable if approached in the right way. No one thinks they need another aircraft carrier or another flying brick. Nor do they need to go and fight in some far off place to achieve nothing
No such thing as OPM. If you think it is, please explain. All you can do when the wind blows is hunker down and hope that's good enough. Of course there may not be a lot left of your precious stuff. Then we have those darn floods.
Ah yes, the floods, haven't had one for a while, still, this may be the year, or maybe not. I can be sure of one thing, the wind doesn't blow stuff away where I live, but I imagine there is a price for living in Texas. And yes there Is OPM, beloved of socialists and leftists and politicians. so much you can do with OPM
OPM is not your business.
right on .'Liberal' was hijacked by the lefties . Liberalism has come to be associated with wide ranging interference with private property and the market on behalf of egalitarian goals. But that isn't the liberalism of John Locke ,Adam SmithQuote:
I don't think liberal is the right definition of leftist.
You have a crooked nose this morning
Don't take it personally, just been dodging high winds, thunderstorms and tornadoes. Warnings every few hours will unnerve you.
Yes, no doubt life can be difficult in the great state of Texas where the wind whistles down the plains or was that a little further north. I was amused yesterday to see some stalwart lads putting a new roof on a neighbour's property on a day where high winds were predicted, they are still at it today and it rained over night. Some people have no sense
It's not just Texas Clete, the whole country is beset by these weather events. A wet wild spring usually brings a long hot summer. We'll see.
tis the season where warm moist air collides with a cold front. It is not unusual . My biggest concern is that my veggie garden is drowning . They need a warm drying period so they can begin to grow.
with drought and flooding rains I have long since given up gardening, it is a zero sum gain, best you can hope for is a few kilo of tomatoes, but the rain events of six months ago and various other disasters have certainly affected supply and price, still I am happy for the pelicans in Lake Eyre. Tom I suggest a green house. I observed the other day Tal that you had tornados as far north as Ohio, You fellows had better start doing something about than non-existant climate change
