If you can't beat them muzzle them .
    Quote:

In an aggressive move designed to crack down on free-spending outside political groups, the Obama administration is proposing strict new rules curtailing nonprofits like Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS and the pro-Obama Priorities USA.

The draft proposal, released Tuesday by the Treasury Department, would keep so-called social welfare 501(c)(4) nonprofits from getting a tax exemption if they engage in too much “candidate related” political activity.
:President Obama pitches new rules for political nonprofits - Byron Tau - POLITICO.com

In other words he's trying to codify the illegal activity his IRS engaged in last year during the 2012 elections .
    Quote:

The proposal is the first major response to a Treasury inspector general report in May blasting the IRS for added scrutiny of tea party conservative groups seeking tax exemption — a major scandal that led President Barack Obama to fire the acting IRS commissioner and other officials to exit the agency.
The inspector general report recommended the IRS tighten its rules.
So instead of taking steps to prevent this type of lawless activity in the future ;he instead wants to make the legitimate activities of the groups illegal.
What really upsets them is that 501s outspent their preferred interest groups like the union movement .
Bottom line on this is that the tax code should not be used to award or punish political speech ,or any other behavior . Eliminate deductions and institute a flat tax .Then the emperor won't have to concern himself with punishing Tea Party Groups and rewarding other cronies through the tax code .

    Hello tom:

Nahhh... The problem was how 501C4 organizations were examined... Now, it's being fixed.

Of course, if you believe the problem was Obama TARGETING his enemies, ala Nixon, then you won't believe me.

PS> By the way, if MY president is a crook, I wanna KNOW it. But, Issa let Lois Lerner slide WITHOUT finding out WHAT she KNEW. I dunno WHY he'd do that, unless he just wanted to score political points. Must I remind you that our founders did NOT leave the congress TOOTHLESS in its oversight responsibilities???

So, there's no PROOF at all. That would be NONE! It's just right wingers flapping their gums as usual..

Wondering how the emperor will make an exception for OFA .
What is being unsaid here is that this is the emperor's regulatory putsch to roll back Citizen's United . This is just another example of executive over-reach .

If you wouldn't have said it, I would have. It's exactly that. And, he's using the RULES to get it.

Look.. If he's ABUSING the Constitution, put Issa on it. He's your crack investigator.. Bwa, ha ha ha.

Issa said the move is "a crass political effort by the administration to get what political advantage they can, when they can.”“The regulation released today continues [the administration's] unfortunate pattern of stifling constitutional free speech,”

I'm sure you'll here more from him and Orin Hatch from the Senate Finance Committee.

He believes term limits limit democracy. But democracy must be limited in a Republic.
Term limits should be extended to Congress and the courts too. We must stick to a 2 term Presidency. FDR broke the tradition by getting 4 terms ,but 4 previous Presidents tried and failed for 3rd terms (Grant, Cleveland ,Wilson and Teddy Roosevelt) .

Judges are elected in this country all the time . It's only at the Federal level where the judges are appointed by the political leaders.
That being said ...I was not saying Federal Judges should be elected. What I would like is their terms expire and be subject to reappointment .

I knew you would go there rather than have a solution to loony's shooting babies (which you obviously have NONE). I have already said a sexually active human should have the knowledge and responsibility not to get pregnant was my solution to abortions just like humans who have resources and a good doctor have.

Better than law makers getting between patients and doctors, and sticking stuff up a female, and berating and humiliating her, or making it such a traumatic event she is scarred for life with no help and support through it. Or telling a doctor how best to treat his/her patient. Or supplanting a scientific view for a religious one.

People with their own resources can/do/and have ignored others telling them what to do, and you can only bully the uninformed or the ones with no resources into your way of thinking.
