As Usual Faux and Palin have it wrong
So Palin has her panties in a bunch because the White House invited Hip-hop artist Common to their Poetry night. Funny when Common was on Faux News in Oct. 2010 he was praised for being a Positive and Socially conscious emcee. Now because the White House invites him to speak he is a cop killer. They refer to one poem from almost 10 years ago. Well here is his entire catalog Please find me where Common is a violent person.

    Hello again, spit:

From the wingers perspective, if you see a black man with a gun, he's probably getting ready to shoot a cop. Be afraid - very afraid...

But, if you see a WHITE man with a gun, he's probably going to a Tea Party rally, where he's getting ready to shoot whoever the government sends after him. Be proud - very proud...

    Huh??

I don't know that he's a violent person but the first song I saw doesn't seem appropriate for a White House poetry reading...

    Quote:

    Communism Song Lyrics

    Intro:
Yo Troy I`ma come on the rhythm
With a little bit of Communism
    Yeah, hah
    So check it out, yeah
    Chick-a chick-a I`m
    Chick-a chick-a on
    Chick-a chick-a my
    My, own sh*t
Like an entrepreneur, that stepped in manure
man I`m newer than a Jack I went up the hill with Jill
    And jack Jill`s big bootay
But did the booty up, I told the b*tch she better have my money
    Or step to the AMG

You know Com Sense, oh yeah him be
That nigga that be making all the by-by-by-bye sounds
But since then, Common calm down!
I`m on some calm sh*t watch Com get complicated
Simple motherf**kers say the way that Com communicated
Was too complex, I got a complex not to complain
On my brain no complain and so will my community
    And I prefer compliments
So I complement at an angle, of ninety degrees
It`s the nineties, and music got known for grease
I got a sense of direction and a compass
Com past MC`s with compassion, though I heard the screams of
But I ain`t shy, so why shall I comfort
Com should`ve been at the fort with Jeff I`m so ill
But I chilled in my compartment with no company and no meals
Now Com can get the panty, but I want my own company
And Com is on a mission not to work for commission
It`s a common market and it`s so much competition
But to me, competition is none
To my comp I`m a ton I get amped like Watts in a riot
My compact disc is a commodity, so buy it
    Instead of competing with Pete
Com compromised, Com made a promise
Not to commercialize, but compound the soul
Without the elements, compelling sense into Communism
    Adorable. Inspiring. Educational.

Ok, then let's use your gun carrying analogy...

If this black man weren't dressed in the white uniform, and was on his way to the Tea Party rally from the hood where he lives, and you saw him on the street just in front of his house, what would YOU think, Mr. liberal white guy?

I already know about Stewart and Cash. YOU wouldn't give Cash an arts medal because he wrote and sang Folsom Prison Blues? Dude!

    Quote:

Cash was inspired to write this song after seeing the movie Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison (1951) while serving in West Germany in the United States Air Force. Cash recounted how he came up with the "Reno" line: "I sat with my pen in my hand, trying to think up the worst reason a person could have for killing another person, and that's what came to mind."[1]
You do know that since at least the 80's, Johnny sang at Billy Graham crusades. I can see the outrage over him being recognized by the Bush White House for such vile musical endeavors.

    I don't care what FOX does .
The President could've had a Sista Soulja moment... too late .Michelle is the boss .

The NJ cops are outraged that this clown who honors a killer of NJ cops was invited to the White House. They think the President acted 'stupidly' .

The cop killer in question is Black Panther Assata Shakur, formerly known as Joanne Chesimard, who was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike. She escaped from prison and is currently exiled in Cuba. The FBI recognizes her as a domestic terrorist.
I can't think of a better operation for the Seals than to extract her and bring her to justice.

But that “positive and socially conscious ” rapper thinks so highly of this cop killer that he named his daughter after her.

I would think the same thing I think of him today. I have had dinner with Common while I was in Chicago. The man is a man of Peace and speaks his mind regardless of what you may think of him. But then again you don't know anything about Lonnie just what you have read on the internet.

I still say it would've been better for the President to do a Sista Soulja moment. Joe ,he named his daughter after cop killer Assata Shakur . That's all I need to know about him .

In 1973, Assata Shakur executed Trooper Werner Foerster with his own gun after he was already shot .And after she shot him, she kicked him in the head to the point that hours later, after she was picked up, his brain was still part of the remnants on her shoe.

    Quote:

    CAUTION
Joanne Chesimard is wanted for escaping from prison in Clinton, New Jersey, while serving a life sentence for murder. On May 2, 1973, Chesimard, who was part of a revolutionary activist organization known as the Black Liberation Army, and two accomplices were stopped for a motor vehicle violation on the New Jersey Turnpike by two troopers with the New Jersey State Police. At the time, Chesimard was wanted for her involvement in several felonies, including bank robbery. Chesimard and her accomplices opened fire on the troopers, seemingly without provocation. One trooper was wounded and the other was shot and killed execution-style at point-blank range. Chesimard fled the scene, but was subsequently apprehended. One of her accomplices was killed in the shoot-out and the other was also apprehended and remains in jail.

In 1977, Chesimard was found guilty of first degree murder, assault and battery of a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to kill, illegal possession of a weapon, and armed robbery. She was sentenced to life in prison.

On November 2, 1979, Chesimard escaped from prison and lived underground before being located in Cuba in 1984. She is thought to currently still be living in Cuba.
    REWARD
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000,000 for information directly leading to the apprehension of Joanne Chesimard. SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUSIf you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.

    Field Office: Newark

    Poster Classification: Domestic Terrorism

I have also found since yesterday that Common does indeed champion Mumia Abu-Jamal in his "poetry" . Guess he just admires cop killers. Good for him . Shame on the President and the First Lady.
