Chavez says capitalism may have ended life on Mars
According to Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez, capitalism destroyed life on Mars.

"I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet," Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.

That's OK, Iran has built a flying saucer so perhaps they can go repopulate Mars.

In a tiny town in Mexico, called Tepotzlan, there is a mountain on the top of which is the ruins of a temple dedicated to Quetzacoatl -the Christ- figure of Central and South America – a mountain which I have climbed several times. However, on the night of September l7, 1985, I was carried up on that mountain, in a vision, with a few friends of mine. As we reached the top of the mountain, a Wheel, or what you call an unidentified flying object (UFO), appeared at the side of the mountain and called to me to come up into the Wheel. Three metal legs appeared from the Wheel, giving me the impression that it was going to land, but it never came over the mountain.

Being somewhat afraid, I called to the members of my party to come with me, but a voice came from the Wheel saying, "Not them; just you." I was told to relax and a beam of light came from the Wheel and I was carried up on this beam of light into the Wheel.

I sat next to the pilot, however, I could not see him. I could only feel his presence. As the Wheel lifted off from the side of the mountain, moving at a terrific speed, I knew I was being transported to the Mother Wheel, which is a human-built planet, a half-mile by a half-mile that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad had taught us of for nearly 60 years. The pilot, knowing that I was fearful of seeing this great, mechanical object in the sky, maneuvered his craft in such a way that I would not see the Mother Wheel (Plane) and then backed quickly into it and docked in a tunnel. I was escorted by the pilot to a door and admitted into a room.

They seem to be big on hyperbole there (kind of like DEATH PANELS of a while ago in the US), but she trying to drum up exposure to the use of hormones in chicken farming. I guess you missed that part.

In Italy the Communist party renamed themselves the Democrat party of the left a couple years back. I think the Socialist party still calls themselves socialists there. Both are very strong in certain regions even if they aren't the majority nationally.

Almost like a circus if you have ever been to a polling place over there. There are typically like 16 different political parties with their poster and candidates at the door to each room where you vote. I can't vote there but have friends that work the polls every year there. And I stopped in to say hi between voters tricling in.

You do realize that he's using that hyperbole to make a point that unrestrained free market is drying up the water on the planet, right?

Yeah... but if the ACLU is any indication... the aetheists seem to fear the man in the sky even more than we do. Or they wouldn't pay any more attention to them then the guy with the World is going to end tomorrow sign on the corner.

Pick any of their numerous lawsuits trying to squash any mention of god or religion.

They waste huge ammounts of time and money trying to silence what they consider a superstition. If they didn't fear it, they would ignore it.

They not trying to outlaw anything, they are trying to make the religious types respect the law/constitution. If you weren't worried about the death of religion so much you wouldn't need to have to advertise your religion so much. Isn't religion a personal issue?

There is no freedom FROM religion in the constitution... its a freedom OF religon... the freedom to practice whatever your religion is. That's FAR different.

Incidentally... how about Muslims imposing their religion on Canadians VIA Sharia...

The Aral Sea is almost bone dry since the days when the commies took over Russia and the surrounding nations. The reason ? The Soviets diverted it's source waters . That environmental disaster was not the result of capitalism.

The Chinese commies created a regional environmental problem with the construction of the 3 Gorge Dam. When it breaks, the flash flood will be an unparalled human disaster .

No Sharia law. FTA you linked:
"In May 2005, the Quebec National Assembly unanimously supported a motion to block the use of Shariah law in Quebec courts. "
In Ontario: "So the province changed its Arbitration Act to allow "faith-based arbitration" – a system where Muslims, Jews, Catholics and members of other faiths could use the guiding principles of their religions to settle family disputes such as divorce, custody and inheritances outside the court system.
It's voluntary – both parties (a husband and wife) have to agree to go through the process. But once they do, the decisions rendered by the tribunal are binding."

The foot is in the door... next they push to make it binding for muslims... then they push to make it law for anything involving a Muslim... then push to impose it on everyone...

That's how they do it. Incrementally.

They ruined their part of the world... now they plan to come here and ruin ours too.

Don't be surprised when they start beating your daughter or granddaughter for refusing to wear a head scarf... never mind the fact she may be aetheist or CHristian.
