    Sarah Palin's Alaska
TLC just received their highest ratings ever for a debut with roughly 5 million viewers for the premier of Sarah Palin's Alaska. On a Sunday night. The night of one of the highest rated reality series ever, The Amazing Race. The night of one of last year's highest rated new series, Undercover Boss. The night of Sunday night football featuring the Steelers and Patriots.

Will the ratings last or is it just curiosity? Who knows, but the left is already in a tizzy over the promo. She allegedly fished too close to the bears.

After whining about all those birthers for the last 2 years, a half a million of you and growing are now proudly "bearthers."

    Hello Steve:

Palin in '12. Without her, Obama will lose.

She called 'em grizzlies. They were brown bears.

She tried to climb a rock wall and said, "I will never quit," but she quit as governor of Alaska.

I too hope she gets the Republican nomination in 2012.

I watched it because one of these days I plan on taking a vacation in Denali .

I'm not a big fan of the reality show format and seeing the Palin family in that setting is no exception.

However I do appreciate the irony of people calling her an unqualified dummy ;and her answering it by having a hit series on 'The Learning Channel' .

Politicians pay a fortune for the type of exposure she gets paid for in her TLC and FOX gigs.

No one ever said "dummies" can't be pretty and charming and charismatic.

Do you want her to be your president?

    Hello tom:

She's a street fighter, all right. She presses all the right buttons. But, that stuff doesn't make her smart. She's quite uninformed about the world. That's by design. In fact, she's using her ignorance as a campaign plank. Can't know stuff - that's elite.

I just think it's the perfect answer... having" The Learning Channel" sponsor an educational series hosted by her . I already said in an earlier posting that this will be a boom for the Alaska tourism industry .

I have not made an opinion about her Presidential prospects ,although initially I think there are better candidates to represent the GOP . I think if the Republicans were wise they would ask her to take over for Michael Steele as the RNC chair . One thing she did demonstrate the last cycle was she could be a 'king maker' ;help recruit candidates ,raise funds ,and help them get elected .
Even in races where the candidate she supported lost ,the Dems ended up forced to unexpectedly expend resources to defend their candidate .

I didn't watch the show, but I watched the promo and she called them "mama bears." I think it's hilarious that people are calling her a quitter and worse based on this. How many of you would be that calm as a brown bear approached your boat? Not me...

The brown bear didn't approach her boat; she approached the brown bear and cubs. Grizzlies are mean and nasty; brown bears are usually fairly agreeable. We'd go to Yellowstone and watch parents put their kids astride brown bear cubs' backs (and photograph them). Mama Brown Bear didn't object (as long as someone was feeding her bread or other treats).

And 2 years into his presidency, she's doing pretty good.

P.S. I'm still pulling for a Christie run.

I'm not aware of any polls between the two. Although I'm sure Bieber would win the under 15 female demographic, I doubt his real impact is anything close to Palin's.

NK I suppose that Justin Bieber is about the best you got ,and effeminate pop flavor of the month.

I don't know if she will be a nominee or even a candidate for President. What I do know is that if she is not ;whoever is the GOP nominee will actively seek her support.

The best part of this ;the more viral the hatred of her ,the more powerful she becomes.

    Hello again, tom:

I don't hate her. I'm proud that she's been able to get where she has. She's a wonderful wife and mother, and would make a great girl scout leader. The fact that she's done so well, is a testament to LIBERAL ideas, and LIBERAL lawmakers. In fact, if it were left up to conservatives, she wouldn't have had the opportunities she did. That is just so.

But, being proud of her, does NOT require me to support her politics, and I surly don't.

I didn't say you hate her. I read the comments on the left sites and just the mention of her name prompts spontaneous combustion.

BTW... the 'dummy' now has a word she invented that is officially recognized by the New Oxford American Dictionary .They announced that “refudiate” is the official 2010 word of the year.
    Quote:

"From a strictly lexical interpretation of the different contexts in which Palin has used 'refudiate,' we have concluded that neither 'refute' nor 'repudiate' seems consistently precise, and that 'refudiate' more or less stands on its own, suggesting a general sense of 'reject.' "
OUPblog Blog Archive OUP USA 2010 Word of the Year: Refudiate

English ;unlike the American Constitution ,is living ,breathing, and constantly changing .
Add to that the phrases she has helped popularize in her brief time on the national scene and it amts to an impressive resume in it's own right.
    You betcha!
    Drill, baby, drill!
    Corrupt bass turds
    Death Panels.
    Cackle of Rads
    Mamma Grizzlies
    Hockey Moms...
    (waiting for Wondergirl's comments )

One more thing... NY Slimes editorialist DR. Paul Krugman, the lefty economist of choice, confirmed in an interview on ABC over the weekend that what is in the ObamaCare legislation is indeed a "death panel" ;and that we should embrace it .

You know Spit, I've wondered that myself as he is one smart guy. But I don't think so, he has more class than that. The team quit on Phillips and his "aww shucks" style wasn't going to light a fire under them.

P.S. I was down 15 points in another league with Vick and Akers to go against DeSean Jackson. We cruised to a 25 point win thanks to Vick's Superman show.
