People who live in glass houses...
So the guy that got fired from his job as political analyst "smacks down" Palin. Who cares what that pathetic, unhinged idiot thinks?
Ad hominem attack eh? Pretty much means you can't defend the message he sends.
Thanks for playing.
How in God's name does this man, the man who in that very video uttered another of his dozens upon dozens of ad hominem attacks on the president and some of the most condescending BS toward Palin, deserve even an ounce of credibility? So yeah, darn right it was an ad hominem attack, when the shoe fits and it's time to take off the gloves I'm no shrinking violet. I'm fed up with this nonsense so the gloves are off.
Is this his Monday "Special Comment" about Palin ?
I just read the diatribe. It comes down to saying Todd Palin was a member of The Alaskan Independence Party ;a party that was formed by Joe Vogler in the 1970s.
A couple of things :
Joe Volger to my knowledge never lit the fuse to bomb anything. Bill Ayers did it and bragged about it as late as 2001. Clearly there was a long standing relationship between Obama and Ayers that preceded the Ayers interview in the NY Slimes . Why did Obama not end the relationship when Ayers bragged about being a terrorist ? Why does Obama continue to lie about it ?
To my knowledge there is no violent terrorist group associated with the AIP party. It is a secessionist party. Does NK think of the Péquistes or Bloc Québécois as terrorists ?
Todd Palin's alleged affiliation with the party was from 1995-2002 . That would be 2 years after the death of Volger . Clearly there was no personal relationship there.
Like the rest of his rant ;all Olbermann is really doing is a phishing expedition.
I don't understand How Palin missed that talking about Ayers and Wright doesn't work. I mean she reads Everything and all of them so she must have stumbled across one article in March April May or June that proves the American public doesn't think Obama Pals around with terrorist.
And if him winning the nomination doesn't prove that Americans Don't care maybe Palin should look at this link.
http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx
Spit . Remember that Evita started from way behind after Super Tues and then almost fought back in the primaries by also discussing Ayers ;Rezko etc. in the contest . Obama never adequately responded so these issues are still relevant to character and judgement.
And that's why Hillary (that's her name) is not the dem's nominee.
By the way have you noticed that whenever issues in someone's past that's not issue related it's "elevent to character and judgement" but when they do it to McCain or Palin it's suddenly a smear tactic? Weird eh?
Who said O'Reilly is my guy? But since that's your standard, when it comes to fairness there's no comparison. O'Reilly has often taken on the Bush administration, he's taken on McCain, and he usually has both sides on his show - often giving the last word to the other side. O'Reilly doesn't pretend he isn't partisan and he isn't hired to be non-partisan, whereas Olbermann was hired to give balanced coverage of the election and was removed from that position for his failure to do so.
They only want to remove a star from the American flag, you betcha! This isn't something that happened when you were in pre-Kindergarten, or the 8th grade. This is very recent. Sarah Palin has some explaining to do about her deep ties to this organization. Why does Sarah Palin hate America so much?
Lol If you wanted to brand everone in the country who has sympathised with some form of secession as a terrorist you'd be talking about a sizable minority in the country . Do you think all the Alberta seperatists are terrorists ? Seems up in your neck of the woods every province wants independence.
Hello again, Steve:
I didn't say he was unfair. I said he was unhinged, and he is. That ain't bad. I'm a little unhinged too.
But, I DO think they work well together... And, I think they really do MIRROR their constituency... Olbermann is slick, sophisticated, and elite (I'm sure you'll like that one). He LOVES agreement. He's ABOVE the fray, and only raises his voice ABOUT the other guys, not to them. He doesn't like to get his hands dirty.
O'Reilly, on the other hand, tells like HE sees it (I like that - even if I disagree). He's really not sophisticated, and dives right in. He LOVES getting his hands dirty, and he raises his voice TO the other guys, not about them. I like that too.
They're BOTH over the top in different ways. Like bookends.

Keep trying, NK, I wasn’t born yesterday. I’ve been listening to the most vile, unhinged hatred from the left for 8 years now. Your side still has people complaining that Bush stole the 2000 election, that’s a pretty good indication how out of touch with reality your side is.
I’ve got the Dems emails who started attacking McCain before he had the nomination wrapped up and before they had a nominee of their own, lying through their teeth about his “hundred years” in Iraq statement and claimed he was “caught in yet another ethics scandal.”
In one email alone on February 25, 2008, Howard Dean accused him of “blatant hypocrisy on ethics and integrity,” “breaking the law,” “a total lack of integrity and honesty,” “ripping a page right from George Bush's playbook: ignoring the laws when they aren't convenient and hoping no one will notice,” “using government programs when it's politically convenient and breaking the rules when it's not,” “thinks he's above the law” and “poses as a reformer, but seems to think reforms apply to everyone but him.”
On the 26th, Joe Sandler sent an email in which he called McCain a liar – twice – said he “abused the system” and accused him of “hypocrisy” and said “his total lack of integrity has never been more clear.”
On the 28th, Tom McMahon sent an email claiming McCain thinks he is “above the law” and “breaks the very rules he wrote.” He also said “John McCain is proving to be no different from the swift-boating, vote-suppressing Republicans of years past. That's why we have to hit him hard and hit him fast now” because he “would just offer a third Bush term.”
On March 5, McMahon said “McCain and Bush are both telling the American people what they want to hear, rather than the truth” and “It's frightening how much George Bush likes John McCain.”
On the 17th, Dean accused McCain of “misleading the American people about his record” and claimed “he has traded his integrity for a chance at the presidency.”
We didn’t start it, that’s a laugh. I’ve had enough of this kind of BS, I’ve had enough of unhinged leftists trying to take over my country with their lies, hypocrisy, intolerance, closed-mindedness, arrogance and hatred, and I find irrelevant the opinions of outsiders who refuse to discuss anything on substance and consider someone like Olbermann a voice of authority. Cheers right back at you :)
Those are all true. But they are nowhere near the vile emails about McCain that went around and even surfaced on this board.
Those are "all true?" Yeah, your judgment is sound. Just tell me one thing on these, what happened to their complaint to the FEC?
You're also still ignoring one thing, tom and I (and perhaps others) defended Obama against all those internet rumors. I have yet to see one of you defend McCain against the ridiculous distortions of his hundred year remark.
Yeah, but you’re a controlled unhinged. I’m a bit unhinged today myself if you can’t tell.
You’re right that Olbermann doesn’t like to get his hands dirty, he’d rather sit in his chair and throw sucker punches instead of actually getting in the ring. Like the time he “accused the President of "panoramic and murderous deceit," and of "creating" an America that "includes 'cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives,'" contending that "they are those in, or formerly in, your employ, who may yet be charged some day with war crimes,” and then talking TO Bush told him to “shut the hell up” instead of sitting Bush down for an interview as O’Reilly did. By the way, when was the last time Keith got his hands dirty and visited our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan or checked out Gitmo for himself?Quote:
But, I DO think they work well together... And, I think they really do MIRROR their constituency... Olbermann is slick, sophisticated, and elite (I'm sure you'll like that one). He LOVES agreement. " wants to talk about someone [ Ayers ] Obama does not know very well"
Obama, Bill Ayers, and FactCheck.Org: All Have Ties To Annenberg Foundation | DBKP - The Worldwide Leader in Weird
Where are the details about Obama's work at the Annenberg foundation?
The whole "when Obama was 8 "
Is a false argument.
Surely a well read fellow like Mr Obama had to know of Ayer's past history, yet as an adult Obama chose to associate himself with a known terrorist.
NK
Would you approve of an adult female [ sister?] relative's associating themselves with a felon [ say a sexual predator, or murderer] whose deeds were in the past, say 30 years ago?
Olbermann considers Ayers "rehabiltated" 60s radiacal
Hmmm...
Look at this - clearly now a respectfully american citizen
No Regrets - Chicago Magazine - August 2001 - Chicago
Olbermann's schtick is to divert the real questions about Obama's past
Ayers did serve his time correct? Isn't the entire point of going to Jail to be punished and rehabilitated? Are you saying the prison systems don't work and Ayers can blow up any building at any moment?
No Ayers served no time in fact. His current wife Bernardine Dohrn did some time ;less than a year ;for refusing to testify regarding the Brinks Robbery (that is a nice story in itself) .But Ayers got off .Charges against him were dropped because the prosecution screwed up.
The key here is "unrepentant." Published in the NY Times on 9/11/01 in an article titled No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen :
Quote:
''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''
I figured he did time I'm being lazy today and not looking anything up. But in your opinion do you think Ayers at any moment can or will set more bombs?
I have watched the video that NK posted.
Here's my question. Is anything that Palin said about Ayers a lie? Is it factually incorrect?
The answer is no. Obama and Ayers do have a relationship. Obama did start his political career in Ayers' living room. They did work together, not just for a short time but for several years. And Obama's own staff have said that he and Ayers had a good relationship. It is only NOW when Ayers is a political liability that Obama wishes to disassociate from Ayers.
Yes, Ayers committed his crimes when Obama was only 8. So what? He is still proud of his actions, and has said that he wishes he could have done more of it. He still steps on American flags as a way to promote books. He still hates America and still considers terrorism as an option for the future. These things have been said in 2001 by Ayers. Obama was not 8 years old when Ayers said these things. They were still serving together as board members when Ayers said it. There is no record of Obama stating his disagreement with Ayers for the record, much less resigning in protest from the board.
Perhaps Obama really disagrees with Ayers. But if so, why did he ever associate with Ayers in the first place? Why accept his campaign contributions, sit on boards with him, and run political events in his house? If it was because he agrees with Ayers, the people deserve to have that information before they vote for him. And if it was simply bad judgement, the people deserve to know that too.
So in my opinion, the issue of Obama's relationships with Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Louis Farakan, Toni Rezko, Hatem El-Hady (a fundraiser for Obama who also raises money for Islamic terrorists), Rashid Khalidi (a Palestinian terrorism apologist), and others, are all fair game.
And if Obama wants to bring up Palin's associations, whether to priests and pastors or successionist groups, then that is fair game as well.
So fine, bring the relationship between Palin and Volger into the light if you wish. But bring the much stronger relationships between Obama and Ayers, Wright, Rezko, and others into the light as well. The people deserve to know who the candidates are, what they stand for, who they get advice from, and the quality of their judgement with regard to relationships. It's all fair game.
Elliot
That's not really for me to speculate, I just know he's an unrepentant terrorist who doesn't deserve any trust or respect, and it legitimately raises questions about Obama's relationship with the man that hosted his Illinois senate launch in his home.
These are direct quotes from Ayers himself as quoted in the NY Times, on September 11, 2001.
"I don't regret setting bombs.... I feel we didn't do enough."
And when asked whether he would do it again, he answered, "I don't want to discount the possibility."
So yes, I believe that at any moment Ayers can, and if he saw justification in his own mind, would plant more bombs.
Elliot
No he won't he's too busy undermining America by other means. What better base of operations than the American University system where he can like the avowed Maoist he admits he is train the next generation revolutionaries to “swim among the masses like fish in the sea” .
I also think that Charles Manson would've eventually stopped killing also.
Now Ayers is the toast of liberal Hyde Park . It was clearly a natural for the young radical Obama to drift towards Ayers to get his feet wet in politics. Ayers had his eyes on the young Obama from before Obama's Harvard days .Obama had met Ayer's father Tom Ayers when Obama was a "community organizer " and both Obama and the Ayers were active in school reform efforts in Chicago in the late 1980s.
So that is one blatant lie that the Obama camp is telling when they say Ayers and Obama were casual acquaintances who met in the mid-90s . In fact Obama was a long time political ally of the Ayers family; long before Ayers hosted Obama's 1st political introductions . That is why when the Annenberg Challenge came to Ayers ,he recruited Obama right out of Harvard for the effort.
Would you agree with me that at least Obama's description of Ayers as just someone from my neighborhood is a lie ?
Here is a speech Ayers gave to the masses in Venezuela in 2006
2006 November « Bill AyersQuote:
"Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions small and large. La educacion es revolucion!"
I'm 30 years old so far I have had two police officers fired and made 3 city councilmen resign their positions all over a car accident and all before I graduated high school. So yeah I'm all about revolution. And I owe it all to my Problems of Democracy teacher from High School.
As Thomas Sowell pointed out, a Democratic party official said, “People don’t come to Obama for what he’s done, they come because of what they hope he can be.” Are we to "hope" he won't be like his friends? I think there's too much at stake for that...
Well McCain is friends with Bush and we already know they are exactly the same. Well at least 90% the same. So I'll say Thanks, but no Thanks.
So Speech if Obama wins what building do you think he will blow up first? Or do you think he will rob a brinks truck? Maybe he will rob a brinks truck he only has one house. But hopefully he will have public housing in Washington come January 20, 2009.
Ayers can have a gay sex orgy with porpoises for all I case, it bares no relation to the democratic nominee.
Spit, which congressman doesn’t vote with their party the majority of the time? If that’s the criteria then Obama is much more in sync with their failed party line than McCain could ever hope to be.
I have no worries that Obama will turn out to be a terrorist like his buddy Ayers, but he’s radical enough in other ways that he’ll be a disaster for this country.
Speech we are back at agree to disagree.
Hello:
He's not radical enough for me. If he were, he'd end the drug war.
I wish he would, but nope. No radical stuff like that coming from him. I'll bet you righty's think that's almost communistic.

I'm still pissed at Obama about the FISA vote and I don't like that Biden is a friend of the RIAA (friggin' extortionists) but they love America more that McCain (who is in it for himself).
