About Pope, Well, I use to agree upon everything what my Father/priest use to say. Until the day I read myself what's in there and tried to seek answers from God himself not any man. I still try to learn from others experience and revelation though.

I don't know every answer but I think the best way to deal with it is to start from yourself, what you want to see in the world.
Prescious you seem confused about Jesus. He came with a purpose so he only needed a short time to get the job done, he then left it to us to spread the word, somewhere along the way the message become confused and man started to make it about themselves and exploit others, what we recognise today as religion and the RC is a manifestation of that. I don't believe in Jesus anymore. But I didn't forget his teachings and I just don't understand how so many people that still say that they are Christians don't follow those things that he said. If they would, the world would have been a better place.Quote:

I didn't went straight from being a Catholic to an atheist. When I was 18 I wanted to convert to protestantism, because protestants are allowed to use birth control, get a divorce, use IVF etc. But my father exploded. He said that no one in the family ever left Catholicism, so neither would I. The Bible also says that you should honour your parents, so I only stayed Catholic in name.
But Jehova is still Jehova, it doesn't matter whether you are a Catholic or a protestant, what Stephen Frye says, still applies.
If you are interested to know in what I do believe in, it is called humanism and contains a lot of values that I used to think were Christian, but it turned out that Confucius already taught the golden rule, it wasn't invented by Christ. When I was still a teenager I really didn't understand where people that didn't believe in God got their morals from. But now I understand that most people have better morals than those of Christianity as soon as they are against slavery or they don't want to stone someone who committed adultery, wears clothes from different fabrics or even eats shrimps.Quote:

Sorry but Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism... and Judaism goes back to some of the earliest recorded History. I'm College educated so where are these Humanism records that predate Judaism? Most Religions that pre and post dated Judaism in that Era revolved around pagan and Idol worship. Humanism is a relative newcomer.
Oh I think humanism has always been with us, Eve was the first humanist wanting to be like God but questioning his word. I don't listen to people like Fry because they are lost and therefore cannot enlighten me. I know the truth, the manifest reality of God, I have experienced it.
You want to judge God, say his ways are not just but how do you know? You weren't there at the events that are described. Today we are living with the result of Abraham's lack of faith, Ismael. The works of man give birth to Ismaels, the work of God gave birth to Jesus, to someone even you acknowledge the superiority of his teachings. Do the Muslims follow his teachings, no, they follow someone who couldn't discern whether it was God or Satan who was speaking to him, so I don't listen to him either.

The history of man and his religion is full of examples of a part of a tribe walking away from the bigger and starting it's own dogma, and blasting another tribe's dogma even to the point of WAR. So I already took your advice and I reach out to people of all colors and all religions, but is that really all that I can do? You cannot control the thoughts and actions of others, let alone what they feel in their hearts. You can only do your best to control your own thoughts, actions, and heart.
In a word, don't let others get you all jacked up. You will be a crazy frustrated nut if you think they will change. So let them be the crazy frustrated NUTS they wish to make of you. Understand they can no more change the hearts of others either so don't let them change yours.

Nobody here is trying to change her religion... or lack thereof... she can worship the container of sugar on the shelf if it makes her happy. I'm no missionary and believe everyone will get what they deserve when the die and meet their maker.
If the Atheists are tight... nobody will ever know because everything will end when you die. If they aren't well, what happens next is a result of their own choices. Its amazing that people believe there is no god or afterlife get so excited and worked up about other people that think there is.

I overlook a lot of things...but I can not overlook series of complete fallacies and attacks from someone who has openly professed their hatred towards Amercians and White people specificly. THen turns around and pretends they never said it after repeating it a dozen + times.
I don't know where she gets these numbers and "facts" from....particularly since she doesn't even live on this side of the Atlantic. Her parents were from a seriously impoverished country...which does not have a world class education system...one in which she was at least partially educated in.
Personally I don't care of she is atheist. Its her choice, and I have no desire to convert her but it doesn't make her better than everyone else like she thinks and has basically said.
I'd have given her a lot more leeway if her English skills were not as good as they are. Because she does have an impressive grasp of English. I'm fluent in Italian...but its still not as good as her English is.
You know where she gets her facts from, she has been listening to athiests and muslims and probably a few south american revolutionaries along the way

Do you know where intolerance comes from? It comes from the actions of people. Some people don't act in a reasonable manner, they don't respect and as a result you get chaos, look a Muslims in places like Pakistan, for example, they used the cartoons published in Europe as an excuse to kill their own people and rampage. Now I can understand people in Holland being upset, but half a world away, they are just looking for an excuse.Quote:
