Don't Hold Your Breath For A Budget: House, Senate Aren't Even Trying To Reconcile Bills - Forbes

    Quote:

But House Republicans have not budged. And as long as their position is that no tax increase of any size under any circumstance is acceptable, there will be no final budget resolution for 2014. At the moment, neither House nor Senate leaders plan to even try to reconcile the two budgets.

And without a compromise resolution, it is hard to image that either the House Ways & Means Committee or the Senate Finance Committee would propose a tax reform bill—even though both budget bills contemplate major reductions in tax preferences.
The important fact here is the date, 3/25/2013 @ 3:28PM. Now you want a debate when 8months were squandered? A clean bill, and we keep squandering if that's what you want.

Only when liberal Democrats select the Republican nominee should Republicans care what the liberal Democrats think.

Hope the next republican presidential nomination is as big a hit as the last one.

That's because the Repubics have the mistake of holding open primaries. Too many Dems selected him . Show me how many of the conservatives on this forum had him as their top choice. Answer.. nada .

I like Cruz, he has a big set of cajones and handles himself well. He was heckled, first by Harry Reid which he also handled well, but apparently some hopeychangey civilized Obots heckled him at an appearance.

    Quote:

In response to one heckler, Cruz said: “Thank you, sir, for being here. You know, look, it is a great thing that people can express their First Amendment rights. And I only wish the Obama administration respected First Amendment rights that much.”

To another heckler, Cruz responded: “Ma’am, thank you for being here. I wish you would participate in the democratic process through speaking respectfully. … It seems that President Obama’s paid political operatives are out in force today. And you know why? Because the men and women in this room scare the living daylights out of them.”

Interrupted again, Cruz took aim at the president: “You know what? I’m curious. Is anybody left at the Organizing for America headquarters? I’m actually glad that the president’s whole political staff is here instead of actually doing mischief in the country.”

When another heckler yelled out a question, Cruz responded: “You know what’s striking, actually? In the course of this brief speech, we’ve heard more questions than President Obama has allowed in the last year.”

The heckling then led Cruz to “make an offer” to Obama. “I would welcome the president, if he wants to get a hundred of his most rabid political operative in a room, I’ll answer their questions on television as long as he likes. And in exchange, all that I would ask, Mr. President, is you take not a hundred, but ten of the men and women in this room, and spend 30 minutes answering their questions for the American people.”

To another liberal activist, Cruz responded: “Oh, they don’t want the truth to be heard. They definitely don’t want the truth to be heard.”

Tparty types love their meat red and raw. But it doesn't show cajones to stand in front of right wing audience and talk right wing politics.

If he went on hardball and gave Chris Mathews a tingle up his other leg then THAT would show cajones.

Wow, you have everything bass ackwards this week. It takes cajones to buck the good 'ol boy DC ways, it doesn't take cajones to harass and heckle from the crowd- that's called cowardice.

That's a good point NK, because I don't remember you saying anything when the Prez gets heckled, not even by a congressman during an address.

Harper is a conservative a$$ who will be voted out.
My statement was referring to the hypocrisy of steve's statement in this forum... That's what "here" meant in my post.
Just like you calling Rachel Maddow "madcow". Even my 8 year old doesn't do that.

Dude, considering your unhealthy obsession with me I don't think you have any room to be talking about fanaticism.

That's easily proven wrong, but you obviously aren't smart enough to figure that out on your own.

    Hello again,

I think the Tea Party WILL split off from the GOP and form a 3rd party with Ted Cruz and Mike Lee as their leaders.

They really thought they could defund Obamacare, and they're really pissed at the GOP for not sticking with them.
