In light of the virus running wild in Texas, the governor is shutting businesses down.

Seems that people sucking down drinks in crowded bars is not the smartest way to control the spread. 2nd only to crowded "peaceful " protests as a cause.

I do neither, but I understand OUTRAGE surrounding police brutality. I also understand very well sucking down drinks in a crowded bar. Too old for either now. One can be controlled rather easily, the other is a RIGHT. I'll let you figure that out since both have consequences in today's situation.

if you all stay home there will be no reason for police brutality and eventually no reason for police

Frugal is the right term Clete, and I have added Amazon and BBQ chips. Not really worried about my weight though, but I will take all the 2 ply mega rolls of people paper you can send. Expecting a second wave after we get through the first one.

Whatever the dufus says, we do the opposite.

Purchase of toilet paper is again restricted here after the idiot brigade once again raided supermarket shelves. Stay home is the only answer

Hiked this morning . Now I have a new hypothesis . Everyone is talking about the southern states disregard for caution . But here in NY we were the epicenter for a time .We went into lock down and established protocols that are the model for the world allegedly .(discounting the horrible blunder by il duce of making sure the most vulnerable and highest risk population got exposed to the virus big time).

But with all that we have experienced ,what I saw on the trail shocked me . Most of the hikers I came across were NOT wearing masks . How could this be ? We are in NY ,the bluest of the blue states where wearing masks has become a religious practice .

So my hypothesis is this . Either we have achieved herd immunity here . Or there will be a second wave here . Let's face it . There have been scores of people on the streets "peacefully "protesting over the last few weeks ..marching ...carrying Soros produced banners ... burning buildings , rioting ,fighting cops ,looting and tearing down statues . If indeed social distancing prevents the spread then it stands to reason that demonstrating in close proximity would create a spread . But I accept the possibility that everyone who could be wacked has been wacked here . If that is the case then maybe the Swedes had it right all along.

Hopefully being outdoors helps, as everything we have done hasn't stopped or controlled this virus, and hard to say anything but total shutdown will slow it. At this point though masks, distancing, and handwashing is all we got. I'm not sold on the herd immunity Tom, nor the Sweden comparison working here at this time. They still face challenges, but here we are watching NY closely for any indication of a second wave as everybody else is trying to restore the economy amidst a rather strong first wave.

At least people here are wearing masks again.
