So you truly think that democrats want to have white people own black slaves? You might want to do some of that internet research.

You should know by now there are no authentic black Republicans but my question is why should it matter? I thought the whole point of racial harmony was making skin color irrelevant.

Ridiculous question Tom totally avoiding the issue that the republicans are racist, I didn't think you could step up to the plate. The idea behind your party system is that you vote for your own candidate and hope to pick up some swinging voters on the way. There is no hope a republican would vote for a democrat black candidate, just like there was no way they would vote for a hispanic

I think someone is forgetting Herman Kaine and how abusively he was treated by the left... and how none of these so-called victims ever filed suit and have dissappeard back under the rocks they crawled out from under.

They hated him because he was everything Obama wasn't and could never even hope to be. A smart Republican Black man that had a clue and actually had a public record of success.

In the interview, White said the affair lasted 13 years and ended right before Cain announced his presidential campaign.

Typical... Canadian repsonse. Ignores all the other inconvienient facts. Like all the so called accusers, most of whom were never publicly identified.. all of whom still crawled back unde rtheir rocks.

Kind of like the Canadian Prime Minister that paid out of pocket to get heart surgery in the USA, rather than get it in Canda under their "wonderful" system for free. I quess he wasn't willing to wait the needed 6.5 years. But they still think its perfect despite the droves of Candaians coming south for treatment and paying out of pocket to do it.

Besides... what real Leftist ever let things like facts get in the way of their agenda.

Typical slight of hand. They are just changing the subject. You make a valid point, and they point out something about Canada that has nothing to do with racism even.. they switched to healthcare. Perhaps, they are racist against Canadians! Blame Canada!

You guys are pretty good yourself at spoiling factual discussions with distractions and assertions when there is a conflict of ideas.

Well, I don't know him personally. However, I have not yet witnessed a slight of hand. As far as this whole topic, the idea that either party has a racial agenda reminds me of the things I've read about the "red scare". It's paranoid and ridiculous. The fact is, yes there are black people that have felt disenchanted by the democrats. There are white people who have felt that from the republicans. No one gets passed the issues, and where you stand on the issues is personal. It isn't handed to you at birth because of your skin, race, religion, etc. Everyone gets to decide for themselves. It is no doubt, like any political party, that the republicans would like more of the minority vote. That's their job, to appeal to as many Americans as possible. The republican party has just failed in it's efforts to reach a large majority of black people. Why? Who knows. There are political analyst far more skilled at figuring that out. Just like democrats have neglected unions. We have, as a nation, kept racism alive by simply keeping up the finger pointing. I still experience prejudice at work from being a woman! And it is 2012! I don't go around accusing a whole party of people of being sexist. When we as a nation decide that we are over it, there won't be any racism. We have to be able to put it down and move on. Or as was stated at the RNC, grow up.

We all have our love and hates, but when your hate is directed at someone and you ACT on it because of race, that's the definition of racism.

It stops when the actions stop.

I agree. However, we aren't going to get very far if one party (republicans) are crying "but..but..but...everyone thinks were racists! Wahhh!" But then turning around and saying "that's because the other party is really the racists. They just use code words to hide it...boo hoo." Its like I'm rubber your glue.. etc. I just don't buy it. They aren't getting the black vote or the latino vote... so they say the other side is the true racist. People vote on issue. The majority of the public cares about the issues that matter to them. The fact that they are being reduced to their skin color because of the party they vote for is racist. You don't see democrats crying that everyone thinks they hate white men... boohoo. Equal nonsense. So, if we could quit making the issues about race.. and address the issues, perhaps, that could be a start.

    Hi Tal,

As I said before there is no factual discussion if we are considering the original question.

The original question is a loaded question so no response can satisfy the presuppositions that go along with it.

No response by you or myself- or anyone else for that matter will be satisfactory.

The original question isn't a question, its an invitation based on the statement that follows, is the way I took it.

So Republicans just hate black people, is that it?

Maybe it's a loaded question, I don't know, but somebody has to answer it. Or discuss it.
  • Sep 4, 2012, 09:40 PM

In order to answer such a question you have to find the premise behind it

We'll try this one in simple logic

Obama is a black man, republicans oppose Obama, therefore republicans oppose blacks, it's a short hop from oppose to hate

Many black people are poor, republicans oppose programs which support the poor, therefore
    Republicans hate black people'

The reality is republican platforms have a definite impact on the poor and therefore a disproportinate impact on minorities which includes the black community. You do need an affirmative action program to have blacks participate in unemployment, in relief, in welfare. By showing that their programs don't take these impacts into account republicans can be accused of hate

Fairly good interpretation. But of course it's as much BS as what led to this thread, which I covered early on. And that would be these alleged dog whistles like "welfare" and Chicago."

Speech we are all guilty of B/S on this Board, but behind the B/S is an element of truth.

You have to get it, people think in simple straight lines, if you are not for me you are against me, there is no waivering in the wind here. Tom wants a flat rate tax, why because he will pay less but more important all those who don't earn enough to pay tax will then have to contribute. Allright make the process transparent, increase welfare by the amount of the tax and tax the poor but at the same time do away with all incentives and tax havens the rich enjoy. You see you have some sort of positive racism in play cleaverly disguised as a tax system

Let's say 25% flat tax that everyone has to pay, no deductions, that should be a very popular measure. The Republicans should vote for it in droves. I think someone had an idea like that over there, the alternative minimum or something like that, what happened to it?

Wrong again . Tom wants a flat rate to end the deductions and exemptions ;to eliminate a whole bunch of IRS and tax accountant jobs .The IRS is a massive bureaucracy costing the taxpayers $12 billion each year. The IRS employs more people than the FBI and CIA combined. Most of that could be eliminated from the budget under a flat tax. It will reduce compliance costs(nationwide estimated to be $338 billion on top of the tax bill ) .
The special interests(all of them ) hate the flat tax because it means no loopholes, no shelters, and no special preferences. All income is treated equally.

It will also mean increased economic growth and job creation.

What I don't get is people who advocate taxing to discourage economic activity like purchasing tobacco products ,and don't see why the same principle applies to the rest of the economy .

It is a disaster because it was never indexed to inflation. More and more "middle class" taxpayers are getting wacked by it .
The tax code is a disgrace . Both Republics and Dems have been swapping loopholes for campaign cash ,and using it as a social engineering tool ;instead of it's only function ,to pay for the operation of the government, since the income tax was imposed in 1913.

Sarcastic, passive-agressive language makes you seem defensive and sensitive. I didn't get that from paraclete's point at all. Sarcastic yes, but the rest of that sentence is utter nonsense. The only thing you omitted from that screed commonly uttered by condscending liberals on blogs everywhere, was telling me I'm "projecting."

Please, don't bother with the diagnoses. You really aren't very good at it and I know what I'm doing and where I'm going with my responses. You don't.
