    Hello again, clete:

If you're trying to offend me by suggesting that gay men are attracted to me, you failed... Gay men ARE attracted to me and I like it just fine. I'm comfortable with my sexuality.

Men who take offense at being approached by gay men, generally question their own sexuality. Would that be YOU?

Now ex it is obvious I struck a cord there, showing a little sensivity Ex? Personally I don't care whether you are attracted to Gays or they find you attractive, they are somewhat thin on the ground here for which I am thankfull as I wouldn't wish to have to fend off those approaches as you apparently do, and yes, I don't wish to find myself in their company. No questions about my sexuality.

You find that despite their platitudes ,the left has their own problems with tolerance.

Tolerance is what happens when the focus is out of sight, They exist, they might be 5% of the population and 90% of the nuiance. Minoraties are always colourful, and these no less than others. By the way Tom by the standards of my country I am a conservative. You might find that difficult to understand as it seems I oppose many of your views but you have not been exposed to the extreme left. We have had both the extreme left and the extreme right here and neither are pretty.

We have had that here too, Clete, and it's the same thing, the extremes right or left are loonies.

They have a lot of votes though!

No Tal we don't have them in quantity although One Nation(perhaps equivalent of your tea party) did attract quite a few adherents for a while, we have to contend with the ascendency of the Greens now, I haven't decided whether they are left of communists yet or not. What we expect is to see much of the support for the left whipped out and yet we will still be a long way left of your conservatives

Conservatives need the Tea Party vote, or they have squat, Nada, Nothing. They drag the republican further right than they want to be, and have true power, through numbers and organization. The more diverse a nation we come, the further right they force the moderate republicans, so in essence the dog wags the tail, and when they say NO, they mean NO!!

But I think they have reached their pinnacle, and the fear they instill will run its course. For a while any way, because the religious right can never die. Just be outnumbered by the more reasonable moderate right conservatives and independents.

Never know though, its possible they can put Romney in the white house. Then those righties will get screwed with the rest of us.

It's true that the Republicans have gotten too right wing, it began during the Reagan years but has now gotten ridiculous. I'm a moderate conservative, but if I were American I actually think that I would feel more at home with the Democrats, I never thought I would say that, although the Hollywood/Michael Moore element turn me off just as much as the religious right/tea party types so I'm not sure who I would feel more comfortable with. I hope that more moderates in both parties get elected in congress or else nothing productive will get done on the economy, gun control, deficit and other important issues.

    Totally agree.
