We could do a lot worse than John Bolton. Did not know he was running for anything... but he's got my vote.
I like Bolton, he's a sharp guy with testicular fortitude. Anyone that has the UN's number like he did is a stand-up guy.
How about a Christie-Bolton ticket... wouldn't that send the left into fits of hysteria?
Steve ,Christe continues to make Shermanesque pronouncements declining to run for President. I could be wrong ,but I think he plans on completing his term in NJ... run for reelection... all the while building up political capital for a 2016 run.
NJ needs the guy and you have to admit, it's kind of fun watching him make people squirm as governor.
Remember how it was going to be a bad year for women? My headline of the day:
Nikki Haley ,Susana Martinez?? Women and Minorities .
Yes there were some novice women who lost ,but consider this... McMahon ,Whitman,Fiorina ,and Angle... relative novices all... forced the Dems to pump a lot of resources into races for positions they thought were safe.
Democrat pollster Mark Penn's post election prognostication is Obama needs an Oklahoma City moment to reconnect with the people.
Well that was stupid and sick.Quote:
“President Clinton reconnected with Oklahoma. And the President right now he seems removed. And it wasn’t until that speech that he really clicked with the American people. Obama needs a similar kind of, yeah” said Penn.
Pelosi is echoing the straw man, or would that be straw woman, and playing the victim in the continuing saga to paint the right as sexist, racist and homophobic (gay support for Republicans doubled, by the way).
Yeah that's it, the party that had the first black female secretary of state, ran a woman for VP in 2008 and just elected a female Hispanic governor in New Mexico is sexist. Just like the Tea Party, whose most prominent candidate is a Latino, is racist.Quote:
About how she was used this year as a political piñata, she is philosophical. Republicans always look for a liberal they can target, she said, and for decades, the choice was the late Edward M. Kennedy. What was done to her, she says, "was almost chicken feed" by comparison. "Now they didn't have him," she adds. "To some extent they did this with Mrs. Clinton for a while." And then Pelosi performs the political math. "Now you take a woman and a progressive and you put it together. . ."
Here's a clue that's been repeated ad nauseum all along, we don't give a hoot that you're a woman... it's the progressive ideology I'm against. We're not the ones calling women whores for not walking in lockstep with the left.
It's good to know that you are gay-friendly, very progressive of the GOP.
Hello again,
The right is gloating. They say the election is a repudiation of the Democrats positions and they need to act more like Republicans in order to win... They couldn't be wronger...
If there was a repudiation, it was a repudiation by the LEFT because Obama didn't act LIBERAL enough. IF the same number of voters, who supported Obama the first time around, voted, the right would have lost, just like they did in '08.
The people know the righty's are the ones who caused the problem in the first place. They only got elected by default...

The thinking people know the democrats have had the Purse strings for the last 4 years and wrecked the debt... they had complete control the last 2 years and wrecked the economy.
Sounds like you, much like Obama... still can't see the forest for the trees.
If MOST people felt like you did why did so many vote Republican? Besides the fact that MOST Americans aren't liberals.
ACORN couldn't stuff the ballot boxes this time.
Indeed.. I encourage them to continue thinking that . They are making a great move in that direction by allowing Madame Mimi to retain her Congressional leadership despite the biggest loss by the Dems in the last century.
Now there is an interesting civil war in the leadersip ranks with the battle for whip between Steny Hoyer and James Clyburn . No doubt the elites in the Dems will prefer to place Hoyer and ask Clyburn to move to the back of the bus.
I am encouraged that the Black Congressional caucus have made the gesture of inviting new Congressional Republican Reps Tim Scott of South Carolina and Allen West of Florida to join the caucus.
Black caucus says it will allow Republicans | Top AP Washington Stories | Chron.com - Houston ChronicleQuote:
The black caucus includes a handful of moderates but is mostly made up of liberals serving in safe Democratic districts. The addition of Republicans would likely shake up its weekly meetings and require its leaders to navigate around them to discuss strategy.
West, a former Army officer, said in an interview he's eager to steer the group away from "failing liberal social welfare policies that have caused the demise of the black community."
Fox is also reporting that defeated Dems penned a letter to Pelosi asking her to step down. As you know... it was the Blue Dogs in swing districts that took the brunt of the electorate outrage for going along with the Pelosi -Obama radical Fabian agenda.
FULL TEXT: Defeated Dems' Letter to Pelosi Fox News Insider
Suffice it to say that there are many defeated moderate Dems who betrayed their convictions and voted in lock step with the extremist agenda who would disagree with the contention that the party was not radical lefty enough .
Democrats have reached an agreement. No more fighting over who gets what, Pelosi has claimed her rightful, well earned place as Minority Leader. Hoyer will be no. 2 at minority whip, and she's given the crumbs to Clyburn with a new no. 3 position... "assistant leader."
Bwaaaa ha ha!!
And you thought the democrats couldn't get any weirder.
Democrats are famous for creating positions that are not necessary.
I'm surprised she didn't call the position a "czar".
What "privileges" will come with this new leadership position? How much of the budget will be used to fund this new position ?
They could've avoided the controversy by booting Madam Mimi out of power.
You see Steve... The 'Boys didn't need to replace Phillips .All they really needed to do is create an assistant coaching position for Garrett.
