So why don't you pick some poor downtrodden homeless person and give them half of everything you own? Then you'd both be equal.

I, however, will give the same opportunity I had to anyone. I had the opportunity to work my way though school, get swindled out of a house, build a career and a family and another house by busting my chops for twenty five years.

The bible says if a man doesn't want to work, don't let him eat. Is that the part you're referring to? In other words, the bible tells us to help those truly in need, but if you're able you need to get off your butt and help yourself. Support for the nanny state the left dreams of is not to be found.

Exactly... but the liberals don't WANT to earn it... they want it handed to them. They believe they are ENTITLED to what others work hard to earn.

Exactly how does THAT equate to "The lord helps those who help themselves."

Which Specifically means you have to work to earn what you desire. It doesn't mean others are obligated to give you what you were too lazy to go out and earn.
