I know the tea party sites have a call in campaign .
The show asks for votes and they get 'em, nothing unfair about it. But she really did well, five 9's and an 8 I think last night... those are good numbers.
Speech going into last night's game I was down like 197 to 67 and ended up losing by 19 points!! Vick had 83 points I think.
Then I can be an assistant winner? Cool!!
I think it's something to keep Palin in the public spotlight so folks don't forget her. Maybe it's just as well as who else do we have to chose from in 2012 for Prez?
I don't think that TLC can credibly call itself the learning channel anymore if they are going to air this Sarah Palin trash. I am so sick of hearing about her. I am praying that someone intelligent like Mitt Romney gets the GOP nomination or they will have no chance of defeating Obama in 2012.
Clearly you did not see the show. I am more determined than ever to take vacation to Denali Park . I want to fish for Salmon in a river that bears are fishing in . I want to hike on glaciers at the foot of Mt McKinley . I hiked on a glacier in Alaska before ,but I took a helicopter to the glacier . It was a blast . I also hiked to the edge of the glacier on Mt Rainier . But Mt Mckinley makes these mountains look like foothills .
Palin did a stomp down on Kathleen Parker's brag that she led the political assassination of Palin in 2008
“On September 26, 2008, I said that she was out of her league, and I have rested my case so many times that I don't need to bring that up again.”
Palin responded in a tweet .
“Parker: appreciate your admittance. Now, I'm still standing; Standing by family, faith & flag. Who do u stand by today?”
Parker of course stands by the disgraced former Governor of NY ,the pervert "Client #9", whore monger Elliot Spitzer . They co-host the latest CNN venture into no ratings. In fact ,her ploy in starting a feud with Palin is a desperate attempt to drum up some viewers.
Meanwhile ,as the OP points out , Palin's show broke TLC ratings ,and I'd love to see how it fared against Rachel Madcow.
I'll have to watch the show myself now, it'll be interesting to see how it fares the 2nd week.
Meanwhile, the left is having convulsions over Brandy losing out to Bristol last night.
Bristol consistently scores near the bottom, she is only being voted through due to the Vote For The Worst campaigns for these phone-in voting reality shows. People like toying with the concept of these shows by keeping the worst people on the show for the laughs.
Hello again, Steve:
I read the article.. I didn't see any convulsions - just reporting.
Nonetheless, in some elections, the best person DOESN'T win. Ho hum. I think it's FINE that a bunch of Sarah Palin supporters voted for Bristol. There ain't no litmus test for voting. Thems the rules.

I only watched the show briefly during a few week stretch when Buzz Aldrin was a contestant . I serial voted for one of my boyhood heroes each week until he was kicked off.
I knew he wasn't the best performer but it took guts for him to do it at his age.
I don't know if Bristol can Dance cause I don't watch dancing with the stars But I do know that her and "The Situation" can't act at all in this PSA commercial.

The bagger voters are creating another monster... feeding an ego of someone with no substance or ability to be doing what they are doing.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaahhaaaaa!
God, this is too rich!
She's going to "win" and it'll be just one more notch in the bedpost of making her and her odious family total national/international jokes.
And when she does Letterman, O'Brien, SNL, Daily Show, Colbert and the vast majority of Americans who loath the Palins will laugh their collective kiesters off for some time.
Eventually, the deluded Bristol will realize nobody voted for her. They just voted for her mother. And she'll know, at least deep down, that she once again was used by her mother and her mother's worshippers.

I've never seen such tea party clap trap. All of the great unwashed called in to DWTS and are keeping Bristol mooing. Now does this render DWTS a new political party or what's going on here?

As soon as Brandy was voted off, I turned it off and edited my DVR to no longer record this show.

The other contestants should refuse to compete... this is a joke.

This is bogus and DTWS should be canceled. This is outrageous, it cannot get any more obvious that this is a sham of a show.

I am just disgusted.
This just goes to show the direction our country will take if Sista Sarah is voted into any office. Her supporters obviously don't care about what is the right thing to do or who is most qualified. They are showing just how daft they really are by voting to make a point and that is exactly how they would vote in the election and our country will implode.
No, they aren't having convulsions over this...Quote:

When I think of the Palin's ( which is not very often) I think of a Cancer who destroys anything good. In this case the country and even the Entertainment shows.
Hello again, Steve:
No, I didn't. I read the ARTICLE you linked me to. That was where I expected the convulsions you mentioned, and I didn't see any. It's true. I did not read the blog. I never do. Those screeches and hollers don't interest me. The only ordinary people I want to hear from are right here. That's all the screeching and hollering I can take.

I wonder if he had a permit for that gun? I was always told law abiding citizens with gun permits are not a threat.
Palin home invasion - legitimate threat. Remote was too far to change the channel.
Obviously if you are shooting your TV and threatening your wife then you are not a law abiding citizen.
One has to wonder if a history of bipolar disorder was in his record when he filled out the application for a permit .
Not sure about rural Wisconsin .Here in semi-rural NY there are discharge laws and laws against threatening someone with a gun.
I missed the part where he turned the gun on his, my bad.
She did not announce it .However she strongly indicated she would make a run .
And Why not ? There will be plenty contenders vying for the Republican nomination. I don't see any other obvious front runner . Everyone mentions Romney... but he seems like yesterday's news to me and he's damaged because RomneyCare was in many ways a template for the disaster the Dems have strapped us with.
She could be looking at the political landscape and thinking 'why not' . Once she gets past the Republican field ;and the country experiences another year + of Obamanation perhaps the country will call on a Mother Goddess .
Michael Vlahos: Mother Goddess, Ascending
Sorry... forgot to put the sarcasm font on my reply.
I think she's having a blast causing agita to all the people who worry about these things.
Hey... we currently have the second coming of Heraclitus running the country and screwing it up royally . Maybe some Truman like downhome dagum gosh golly good ole simple common sensical leadership is what we need .
I am not impressed by the characterization of 'idiot'.. every Republican President since Nixon has been called one and every Democrat since JFK geniouses .
Ivy Leaguers have run this country since 1988... How they doing ?
Hello again, tom:
Let me put it this way. Right here, on these very pages, we have our own version of Sarah Palin. His political wherewithal, like Palin, is garnered from bumper stickers and Glenn Beck. His positions on the issues, like Palin, are talking points and slogans. When scratched, like Palin, there's no THERE, there.
How'd you like HIM running things?
excon
I think Palin quotes end up on bumper stickers ,not the other way around.
I can't speak to the experiences of other experts here since all I know is self professed resumes. Palin has confirmed experiences and a resume that are at least as impressive as the current occupant of the Oval Office.
Hello again, tom:
Oh, I agree. However, having experienced the likes of Obama, I'd think you'd want to delve a little deeper into your candidate, than just their resume... Obama is smart, but he's weak. Palin is dumb, and strong... We just had one of those. It was a disaster.
excon
Tom, I took the clip that I saw as confirmation she has every intention of running. Although she talks about discussing this with her family prior to making any decision, I think what she is concerned about (and rightly so) is figuring out how to overcome her history while serving as mayor & governor. Resigning as governor with 18 months left to go amid ethics probes will be dredged up very quickly once she starts to actively campaign. I think part of her solution is choosing to participate in this reality show. Good or bad, Americans love their reality TV stars and they seem to quickly forget past "mistakes in judgement".
Excon, you and others may think she is "dumb" but look at the life she has carved out for herself in the past 3 years. I think she is a very shrewd businesswoman. I very much doubt she signed a contract for that show without having final say prior to each episode airing. However, I think she is going to have a very difficult time overcoming her political history, along with an apparent lack of knowledge regarding foreign & domestic policies, and world knowledge in general. I also think she may be underestimating how many Republicans will be throwing their hats in the ring. I am looking forward to seeing a record number of people vying for the nod. I will be surprised if either Romney or Huckabee decide not to run again. Unless Obama pulls something amazing out of his bag of tricks, or the GOP nominates such a complete dud, there is no question in my mind we will be taking back the White House in 2012. And I believe all the Republican politicians who have ever dreamed of becoming POTUS are salivating at the thought they may finally have their shot.
Agreed . I don't think the nominee is obvious at this time. I have already expressed my opinion that I thought the position of chairing the RNC would be a good next step in her progression. But who listens to me ?
I see a governor emerging .I have a handful in mind besides Romney or the Huckster who would be fine Presidents(hint... a current GOP Governor just completed an Asian tour promoting business for his State)
The ethics thing is easily parried. By resigning she turned a smear job against her into a strength. Compare her honorable way of dealing with charges that didn't amt to anything against one of the pillars of the House of Reps Charlie Rangel who will avoid prosecution because the Holder Justice Dept will not pursue charges.
