He consistently surprises me lately . I did not comment about the military parade that was held yesterday. I thought it was unnecessary . But did not otherwise have a big objection to it .
Fetterman ;again bucking the group think of his party praised the parade .

Regarding comments about the expense ;they are noted . However I heard commentary that the Army will spend a lot more on recruitment drives this year than the cost of the parade; and this may be a more effective recruitment tool.
It was also noted that the Navy gets a week every year during Fleet Week the highlight being a flotilla of Navy Ships up the Hudson River .
This is a private -public joint sponsored event . That may be the way to fund future Army Day events .
The cost issue is a canard to the real objections .The real objection was that it was Trump's idea and the left thought it a celebration of Trump because it coincided with his birthday. That probably had something to do with it knowing the President's ego . But from what I could tell ;the celebration was strictly to honor the Army on it's 250th anniversary . As was noted ;before there was independence there was an Army fighting for it .

And you look at those graphs, you know, when you have almost 300,000 people showing up at our border, I mean, that's the size of Pittsburgh, and that's unacceptable, that's unsustainable. How can you possibly maintain those kinds of levels?
And now, you know, we absolutely, we failed on securing our border, and I was proud to support and was the co-sponsor of the Lakin' Bill as well. Now, I mean, we can be very, very pro-immigration, as I am, but we need to have a secure border, and we have to do it in the appropriate kinds of way, and it's entirely reasonable to have these kinds of background and those kinds of checks and make sure who we are admitting into our nation, and now we have to, it's also reasonable to bring in people that have the kinds of values that are compatible with our values now, too. That is not about free speech, that's about bringing on the people that want to assimilate and they want to build their lives in our country, not becoming part of a destructive force in our nation.

“And it’s quite frequently they decline to take it and to move on those things. When they move on those kinetic kinds of strikes, you know, they have absolute confidence … who’s on and what’s on it. And that’s exactly what it’s about,”......“They’re not just going around randomly to shooting boats and those things. That’s just not the fact. At all.”
