That's a step up from perfunctory. I think your state's way is far superior to signature checking alone.

We often disagree, but not on this occasion. I would only add that #3 should include a valid reason for requesting a mail out ballot.Quote:

1. Current state ID/driver's license with photo and signature.
2. Signature taken while in line to vote.
3. No ballots mailed out willy nilly, but must be applied for via county election commission's application that may also ask for additional verification.
Heard today that every state that mandates picture IDs has a process for people to get a FREE pic ID, and also has a provision for the person getting a provisional ballot that would be counted upon the person later getting proper identification.
