Torture can never be a good thing but there should be circumstances that should allow some means of getting the info from the subject in question.

I think it should all be hush, hush, and we shouldn't even know about it. Shhhh... now go get him/her! I am not wanting to put my head in the sand but they can save lots of lives by this... then so be it!

It's not just the US Government. Remember the pictures that were taken by German troops? It would have been OK here too, except that the media got involved.

I also remember reading how a French King and a Pope who insure the extenction of the Templar Knights a long time ago. And the Spanish Inquisition, etc. All wars bring out the worst in people only this time we don't have to wait for new history books to read about them, our media insures we get it live.. and sometimes biased. This mass information created sudden fears and all governments take advantage of the moment. That's just a cold hard fact.
