I think that's a pretty good summary other than to say that I don't really expect virus side of this to become something on the order of the black death of the Middle Ages.

Talaniman: It won't happen overnight but the U.S. would be well served to start planning RIGHT NOW to become independent of Red China IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE: The relationship with them, as this virus has highlighted, has been nothing but ONE-SIDED and in the ChiComs favor. When you add on that they have now attacked the U.S. with a "BIOLOGICAL WEAPON" disguised as a virus (it sprang forth from their Biological Weapons facility in Wuhan), its really high time we cut all ties with Red China.....then, don't pay them back for any of the loans since they have cause us so much damage with the current attack.

Nor do I JL, but I don't see this as an easy challenge to overcome either. Hopefully we have come further than we were in middle ages. I think we are playing catch up for now and that's a big challenge in itself.

I just repeat, we have no time for revenge or retaliation on just feelings with no facts, and have to be focused on saving our own arse before we think about kicking someone else's.

Pretty fair statement. I'm sure we are playing catch-up in some ways, but we're also paying a steep price for what might very well turn out to be a significant over-reaction.

In what ways if I may ask in all sincerity, as the err on the side of safety seems to be the initial course of action, as in hope for the best, but plan for the worst, just in case.

We could start with this ridiculous idea to send everyone a check for a thousand dollars. That is nothing more than election year vote buying and a continuation of the idea that money grows on tress, so we can spend with no idea at all of how to pay for it. Beyond that. the crazy over-selling of this thing by the media has panicked a lot of people and the stock market has plunged like a rock. I'm just think that a steady message from the media would have helped. It seems clear now that this is not going to be the end of the world.

The senate has passed the House bill, and rumored to be considering a TRILLION dollar package. There will be many changes for now, and more to come. Hate to see those job numbers the next few weeks. Amazing how a bug you can't see takes down the world, and not a meglamaniac. The first unscheduled maintenance shutdown in history.

Instead of letting this ChiCom virus run its course and not try and "shield" ourselves (let those who get it, get it and then become immune) we are going to draw this virus' run in the U.S. to a maximum time period which will paralyze our economy, create a generation of social awkward people (as if we needed "more" reasons to not talk and interact with one another!), and allow people in government, both locally and nationally, the excuse to take MORE CONTROL THAN EVER of every waking hour of our lives! Until we find a vaccine or treatment regime, or if indeed it immunity can be built, like the flu, and there are no long lasting effects like reinfection then safety first and caution needed. Can you say recovering people are not just in temporary remission? Are not carriers? No we know NOTHING right now do we except it causes death to some and not others in this initial phase.

We gave up our freedoms a long time ago, when we agreed to show up at a given time for some dude to give us money whether it was enough to live off of or not. Money is the only freedom now a days. The MO money the MO freedom you have. Thought you knew so stop blaming China for your lack of freedom. Blame the guys you pay the big bucks to for not watching out for YOU!!

Wuhan - PRC is where the PLA has a Bio;logical Weapons facility: That is how I extrapolate that this virus is a Chinese Biological Weapon....I think the claim has merit and certainly cannot be denounced as a conspiracy theory.

As for your other comments and point: I don't have a retort....I mostly agree with what you said.....my problem is that I was born 50 years too late...I liked it better when the world wasn't so crazy.

Or was the world crazy as heck, but you didn't know it? There have always been I think enough crazy people who make the world crazy for the rest of us. Can't tell by just looking.
