The roots of the transformer movement was in the mid-60s (what a surprise. ) It is a sordid tale .Before then there was no words like “gender identity” and “sexual orientation.” They were pretty much invented by a quack pseudo -scientist named Dr John Money . He was a sexologist at John Hopkins .
1965 a family came to him for help. They had birthed twin boys. One of the twins had received a botched circumcision. Money's recommendation was to castrate him and do a sex conversion ,Money had the perfect patients to test his sick theories on . He had his changeling and his twin brother in the control group. Bruce's name was changed to Brenda. He received hormone therapy to complete the transfer and was forced to wear girls clothing .
His brother Brian was also part of Money's sicko experiments. Money directed them as children to assume sex positions . He reasoned that sexual rehearsal play was important in child development . Money would bring in colleagues to observe this sexual play .When the boys refused they were subject to verbal abuse . Money would photograph them in the act . "Brenda "was shown pictures naked adults to stimulate his transition.
He began to demonstrate female behavior . Money considered his experiment a success. He used it to suggest that gender identitiy is learned and not inate .
But he was never really comfortable as a female . When he turned 15 his father told him the truth. He decided to reclaim manhood. He got a double mastectomy and began taking male hormones. He renamed himself David.
But he was deeply traumatized by his experience . At the age of 38 he committed suicide . His brother Brian also deeply troubled had killed himself 2 years earlier .
As for Dr Money .....to this day he is championed by the transformer community .

How about boys who think they are dogs or cats? They do exist, you know. Should we go along with that as well? How about boys who think they are a god, or boys who think they are angels? If it's all about the person's "heart, soul, brain," then does that settle it in those cases? Do we reach a point where impressions become delusions?
