Animal planet "lost tapes" so sad to think they could fool us!!
I too would like all of these channels to own up to what they are doing to us their fans! We are the ones that keep them in business! But if they continue to keep up this kind of work they are going to continue to lose us! Their trusty fans and then what? The channels are going to belly up!! i'd hate to see that happen. Why screw up a good thing? I am like so many of hte fans that are out there keep it real time not fake!! The truth is all that we want. These people seem to have forgotten that we now have the internet and can check out 99.99% of just about anything that is on t.v.!

Please don't type in caps - it's the same as shouting and it's unnecessary.

This is a question and answer site. What is your question?

(For that matter, what are you talking about?)

Apparently so and finding out they are not is upsetting enough to cause OP to go on line with a non-question (now a comment).

This is why the ability to change channels was invented.

And as far as "why," networks broadcast what "sells." Otherwise I find no reason for reality shows.

I have heard that from quite a few people. Channels that used to be "respectable" (yes a subjective term for sure) have sold out to sensationalism. TLC, The History Channel, even The Golf Channel (that Trump show was horrid), and others have fallen, just like Animal Planet.
As far as reality shows go they were interesting when they first came out now I find I watch a grand total of none of them.

The series used to be on the Discovery Channel... where viewers like to go to see non-fiction.

    I can understand sassy's frustration.

Isn't this in the same category as the guy who got dropped off in the wilderness somewhere (I guess we weren't supposed to notice there was a camera crew with him) but then it was revealed that he was leaving at night, spending the night in a motel, coming back to the "wilderness" and filming continued? I don't know what station that was on and I must confess I watch very little TV. I have found errors on the History Channel (I think everyone has).

It's TV with sponsors and that clouds the issue.

    Yes.

Many of these shows do "re-enactments"... and that's OK as long as the story is true.

I do love the History Channel and the Science Channel... but yes, some of it is just opinion and not necessarily mine.

For example, I do like the series "Through the Worm Hole" on the Science Channel... but so much of it is just opinion... but I do love hearing from the reputable Science guys that give input on shows like that.

Shows like that are not much different than "textbooks". There's a lot of stuff in Science and History and so called "Social Studies" textbooks that is just opinion... or worse yet, bunk.

It's like lots of other things in life: You have to do your own research before coming to a conclusion about what is true, what is just opinion and what is unknown altogether.

Yes, this sums it up - " but yes, some of it is just opinion and not necessarily mine."

    LOVE IT!

80's song that plays in THE NEW animal planet intermission [ 1 Answers ]

Can anyone help me? In one of their shorts before returning to the show, animal planet has this clip of baboons, bouncing on a tree branch while this AWESOME 80's song plays.
