But I sure don't assume that anyone beaten up by a cop deserved it.

A friend of mine overheard two Berkeley cops one day. This was in the 70s, after the demonstrations in the 60s. The cops are on campus, watching college students walk by.
One of them said, "Things are awfully quiet these days."
The other said, "Yeah, I sure wouldn't mind knocking a few heads together again."

Cops are people like everyone one else and some of them are villains who should be behind bars for the things they've done. They should not be protected as they are.

So these cops that did this to us.walk free. For assalt on a pregnant women.she bleed for a week.the statue of limitations ran out.they fractured here wrist.in willmer mn and stcloud mn.I was beaten in minneapolis jail my charge was droped.I was taken in a ambulance.three.of them did this to me.pined me against the wall and rotated.up stairs the next day a black man was beaten.30 of us witnessed it.

Here's an attorney who does police misconduct cases.
Maybe you should talk to him or someone like him.
    Robert Bennett

I don't live in MN or know this person. I just did an internet search. Hope this helps. At least call him up and talk to him. It's a start.

This is from Bennett's website, the link above:

Among other successes, we have obtained a jury finding against Minnesota’s largest police agency of “deliberate indifference” to the use of excessive force by its officers. We have also achieved both the largest jury verdict and settlement in the State of Minnesota in a Section 1983 case.
