    Hello again, R:

In the world, there are the intimidators, and there's the intimidated. I understand that you are one of the intimidated. That's cool. Most people are. You need to change that around, and you need to mean it.

It's a technique. It's something you can learn to do. In my view, you have no choice. Buy a book by Robert Ringer, called "Winning Through Intimidation". Once you understand the techniques, and you understand your NEED to adopt them, and you COMMIT to adopting them, you can begin.

I'm not sure whether any one thing I'm going to suggest will do it, but I think once you bring the pressure to bear, he'll take the easy way out. Most bullies are really cowards at heart.

First and foremost, is getting HIM out of the house. He's an owner, so you can't evict him. You need to get a restraining order against him. Threatening to kill you IS a basis for one being granted. If your attorney doesn't know about this stuff, (and he apparently DOESN'T) - hire one who DOES!

Buy a recording device. You know, one that you can carry in your pocket. Start recording everything. Start keeping a journal.

You need to SUE him for his half of the homestead expenses. In addition for filing for child support, call CPS for terrorizing your children. Get a file started with them.

Like I said, it's a combination of things that puts the pressure on him. The most important of which, is your new attitude.

Thank you for the advice. My neighbor (67 years old ) is here with me and she just handed me an old fashioned voice recorder. I will begin using it, until I get a newer smaller one. It wasn't my attorney that suggested I couldn't get a restraining order based on the threat, that was the two police officers that came 2 saturdays ago. Letting Child Protective Services in my front door FREAKS ME OUT!! I have seen so many horror stories about them removing children from a home. I would rather DIE than have my boys put somewhere away from me. If you knew me and met my kids, you would understand my caution. BREAKING NEWS!! He just called and said he didn't file an afidavit today and that he wanted me to go to the bank, get the money and put it up on his dresser and then he wants us to sit down and talk tonight. HELLOOOOOO! I didn't go to all this trouble to turn around and give him just what he wants. The money to run with. The roof is paid for and I can write a check for the gutters and food. But I knew it, I FRICKIN KNEW IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. THAT JERK HAD PLANS FOR THE MONEY. SHOULD I GIVE HIM What's LEFT OR TELL HIM TO TAKE A HIKE?

Before you run around with the tape recorder - do you know if it's legal to record conversations in your State, whether both parties have to be aware of the recording?

It is legal in my state to record someone as long as one of the two parties being recorded is aware of the recording.

Good that you checked - I've seen people take records to Court and get arrested for the recording.
