I don't know why you ask for advice when you don't follow it - you've been advised REPEATEDLY not to talk to your former employer and you continue to do so.

I'm sure the company isn't going through this for $1,000. I'm also sure money is missing, they think you took it, they may or may not have what they think is proof.

I have no idea why you quit and aren't consumed with righteous indignation - instead of worrying about what will happen next.

I have no idea what "$8 in the back of the register" means. I conduct bar surveillances frequently to determine if bartenders/wait persons are stealing from the owner and the "money in the back of the register" is NOT uncommon when money is being siphoned.

I find that your last sentence, "... I can't help to just think" says more about who you are than anything you have posted.

Judy is one smart cookie, err, investigator. She should know all the "tricks" when it comes to investigating where the money went. Many years ago I had a job as a cashier. At the end of my shift I had to close out my register and then make sure my drawer was in order according to all the sales I had that shift. Don't know how your employer closed out his registers and kept track of sales vs register receipts, but I know that it was very easy to be only $2 or less over or under and on the money 50% of the time. In one 8 hr shift alone I had several hundred sales to account for and I was only on the money 75% of the time or just a few cents either way.

And I get to sit in bars and actually get paid for it - another reason why I hate bars.
