Can you put someone in jail for dealing drugs?
So I know someone who deals drugs, from oxys to weed to coke, it's not good. He's going to marry my best friend. He's not a good guy. If I get someone to buy drugs from him, record it, and give it to the police will he go to jail?

How long would he go to jail for?

If I report him to the police here it'll go months without the cops actually doing anything! I've reported him before and nothing has happened, he just got sneakier.

This guy needs to go to jail [and stay in jail], not only is he a drug dealer but he's a psychopath.

You can make a citizen's arrest but I wouldn't advise it. If the police won't do anything there isn't much you can do.

If you get someone to try and buy drugs, they are just as likely to be arrested.

A person just can't go and "buy some drugs" from this guy and turn the drugs over to the police! Only on TV!! Not in real life. Your friend CAN go to the police and volunteer to buy some drugs from this shady character. The undercover narcotic cops will then do a "controlled buy" using your friend to do it with. It takes some doing but it CAN be done. Just have your friend approach the narcotics officers and talk it over with them. A friend of mine did this same thing in Florida but that person had to be frisked prior to going to the drug dealer's house and also had to wear a wire when they were inside the drug house. The drug dealer DID get arrested and DID go to jail. It also takes at least 2 to 3 controlled buys for the charges to stick however. Just once is not enough to really nail them good.

Just HOW did your best friend get involved with such a bad actor like this guy in the first place?

    Thanks so much!

I have no idea how she got invovled with such a guy. She started by hanging out with the wrong people and sooner than later she met him and they fell in love... it's a really heart warming story [barf].

Thank-you so much, I'll call the local police station and arrange something with them. Thanks again!

See if there is a drug task force in your area, At least here in the US, often there are special drug task forces that are made up of people from varoiius departments under special funding from the state or federal governments. They do nothing but drug arrests.

But also they may take months to get undercover people in, and even use the person to find more people. I have known dealers who were allowed to deal for a long time, and the police were merely using them to find larger "fish" and get lists of users to arrest latter also.
