She may have had regular flour
I am sure she has used the bananas by now or thrown them away.

    What is Self-rising flour?
A little late, but according to this self rising flour already has baking powder in it. I would imagine there's an ingredient list on the bag so people can check to make sure. Guess now we'll know for next time :)

There is no SELF RAISING flour, the recipe calls for PLAIN FLOUR.

Bahumut explained what would happen if there was no raising agent, it would just make the loaf dense. Double the mixture and it would be the same size as the original recipe once baked.

So jennie, did you get to bake your banana bread yet?

Even if the recipe called for regular flour, jennie mentioned she had all purpose self rising flour and asked if it would work. That's why it keeps getting brought up.

    .

Did they quit making self rising flour?
I use self rising flour and leave the baking powder out a lot of times.
I haven't baked in YEARS though

    I know :)

My point was Jennie asked what would happen if she baked the recipe in the OP.
I am assuming she didn't have self raising flour as the recipe said plain flour ;)

Hmmm, the recipe she started with just said flour, no particular kind. But later she said she had self rising.

Self rising flour already has the baking powder, baking soda and salt in it. Leave these ingredients out if using self-rising flour instead of all-purpose flour.
