Problem burning movies stored on computer from camcorder.
Hi All new to this forum. Stumbled on it searching info on a ceiling fan. My problem is I cannot burn video I have stored on my desktop to a disc and play it on any of the three other DVD players I have in my house,so I cannot either send it to anyone on a disc or burn and keep a copy. I have a 2005 desktop running Windows XP. I can use Movie Maker for some of my stored videos but some I cannot because I do not know the CODEC?? I am just learning about this CODEC thing. Any info please explain in laymans terms. THX for any help

You may take a look at this step by step guide, it's regarding how to convert and burn movie to DVD. I followed it and successfully burned DVD to play on my home DVD player, it's easy to understand, I think it deserves a try.

The program mentioned in the above link is a good one, but I would suggest to slow down the burn speed to 8x or less. It seems burning to fast may cause the dvd not to play on some dvd players.
