    Can you tell me how to transfer info onto a new computer
    I continue to be technically challenged. My computer is over five
    Years old (desktop) and I have to use Ctrl Alt Dele many times in one
    Sitting. It is very slow. I have Windows 9. I want to get a new
    Desktop (not MAC because I'd have too much to learn)... but I don't
    Want to lose my over 300 Favorites... my toolbar and my address
    Book, etc.

    Is there a magic explanation for this transfer of information or do I have
    To hire Geeks.com?

    Do NOT hire Geeks.com. I do tech support on the side and those guys are ripoffs, almost as bad as Best Best computer people. Ask around for references to a local computer support person in your area, there is too much to mention about saving data to do it here. It really depends on what you have installed. In fact a local person may be able to de-crapify your PC and get it back running like new again; I do that frequently for people.

    What you might want to do is get an external USB hard drive and back up the entire old system. Since you mentioned win9 Im thinking you really meant to say win98? So your usb is more then likely going to be very slow USB 1.0
    But when your done you can hook it onto your new system and take any info you want off it.

    Good advice but you will not be transferring every single thing you currently have. I am guessing you want everything to be the same but fast with a new computer. It won't be the same, especially if you get Windows 7

    True. But it never hurts to have a backup so you always have access to whatever was on the old system.
