Heaven is Jimmi on guitar, Duane Allman playing slide, Moon the Loon on drums, Barry Oakly on bass, Janice singing and Jim Morrison writing the songs with Elvis in the kitchen frying up some peanutbutter and nana sandwiches.

Hmm I can sort of answer this question. The Other Side is extremely interesting to me and I believe I've actually gone there for a few seconds. It's... really hard to explain, one may argue that it is only a slide show of memories combined in our heads, but basically when I was sleeping for some reason I dreampt I died, and in reality I stopped breathing. I know I did because I could just tell.
Then I found myself in the most breath-taking, most beautiful place nothing can compare to.
Iwas in a gorgeous garden with stone steps, a house and dogs running around wagging their tails. I saw cherry blossom trees and the sky, was so blue I can't even describe it. There was light and warmth. I didn't see any people yet though. The grass was sparkling amost, a lot of land as far as I could see. There was no negativity whatsoever, not even any thoughts or worries. At that moment, right then and there I knew this was home.

When I woke up from my dream I considered it to be one I would never forget. My personal belief is that after we die, we go back home to heaven, Nirvana, or whatever you call it. Then choose if we want to be reincarnated or not to learn lifes' lessons and achieve our goals on Earth.

As for Hell, I believe it's possible that people who are born as Dark Entitys. These are humans who have very little care inthem, suchas serial killers *mentally ill do not count* I believe these people go back to where darkness was created. I don't believe in a real fiery hell with devils and demons, and souls being burned alive... that's just out of line.
I think THAT belief is something that deals with FEAR. After all society is controlled by it.. am I wrong?

It is interesting to note that Christianity is the only main religion that *does not describe* "heaven" (as an afterlife) in its scriptures.

IN fact, Christianity is a religion of words that are intangibles, there is nothing concretely described for how to alleviate suffering and pain, for example, except to "pray" or be "born again".

Examples in other religions are that in Buddhism there are lessons on how to lessen suffering(Christian semi=equivalent is sin) and pain by lessening various attachments. Or in Islam, heaven is partly described as having 72 virgins)

The basics of Christianity... words like grace, love, sin, heaven, (IN the beginning was the word(logos doesn't mean word, by the way... )and so on, are words that each individual can fantasize a meaning for... and any leader, minister, priest can interpret a spiritual lesson for. Christianity is a religion that can lead to the danger of living in one's head because of vagueness.

Anyway, heaven is dying, having really lived... and having eternal peace-which is what dead forever means. :)

Hmmm, in fact, *Heaven on Earth* is described. Described in many ways. Through parables, for example.

I have always thought that Jesus taught that the Kingdom of Heaven is on earth as did many others.

Nobody really knows what heaven looks like. My pastor taught a seris on Heven.

If you read Revelations you can get an idea. But it varies from person to person. Some people imagian relaxing, playing golf, etc. But one thing we do know is that it will be great, because God will be there. :]

    Hi firmbeliever,

As you see, I was giving a *concrete example* of what heaven was like... in no way was I intending to give a full description!

    Enjoy!

Several here have given what they think heaven is like and I have no argument with them on that at all.
All I have to go by is what scripture says and that is very little other than what Jesus has said in His parables and some from the visions described in the book of revelation.
The new Jerusalem is there with streets of gold, but I imagine it to also be like the garden of Eden which Adam and Eve shortly enjoyed.
That is a garden of plenty where anything that grows is perfect including the edibles.
Can you imagine what forest of perfect trees would be like, many different kinds all perfect and meadows and fields all perfect.
    Peace and kindness,
    Fred

Heaven is where God is, He is the light of heaven, the joy of heaven.
The bible talks about streets of gold as clear as crystal and walls made of precious stones. But heaven is a spiritual condition where one spiritual being is in touch with another spiritual being. There will be total communication and fellowship in heaven. Our joy will be greater
And beyond anything we can conceive here on earth. The ultimate good
Of heaven is being in the immediate presence of God. In heaven there
Will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor sickness, nor proverty.
God will wipe away every tear from our eyes and no more crying. Or pain.
All former things will have passed away.We will be able to recongnize our loved ones in heaven, and we will experience great joy over being
Reunited with them. In heaven there will be no more fear of any kind or evil, and God will provide magnificently for His people.
Heaven is better than anything any human being could ever imagine.
    Hope to see you there.

    Love and Blessing, Maggie 3

If you own a Bible you can read about it in Revalation, chapter 19. St. John describes it beautifully.

    Ps. 37:11, Rev. 21: 1-4, Micah 4:3,4

This shows not all go to heaven, and rest at ease no one can comprehend a sprit realm, just as no man can see god and live
