The Bible says in John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my love..."

That verse and other very similar passages teach us that those who are truly saved have a strong desire to be obedient to all that God teaches in the Bible. If we find ourselves habitually disobeying (sinning) in some way, we have very serious reason to question whether we are truly a child of God. Our feelings about being in the spirit are truly not reliable at all. Only the word of God, the Bible, is reliable to show us whether we are His child. If we obey His word!!
