    Gal,

Well from what I can gather from reading the Bible... we are raptured and then the signing of the peace treaty. I tend to believe this will take place VERY close to each other as well. But I don't think the church will know without a shadow of a doubt who the antiChrist will be until the peace treaty is signed. But from what I can tell... we will be oughtta here.

I think you are right about the timing.

I do think that those who understand the Bible and are good observers of current events will have a fair idea of what will happen soon as a result of what is happening now.

I think we might be able to spot who Anti-Christ is shortly before he comes to power.

Keep both your eyes and your mind open on this subject, and stay ready.

Rome didn't rule Babylon, this is true, it was Alexander the great who conquered Babylon and he was a little ahead of Roman domination of the middle east.

Scholars have equated Rome with Babylon mentioned in the Bible in Revelation but the reference is to a system rather than a place. The Babylonian system was one of corruption and influence, much like we see in the Muslim world today

    Something else occurs to me.
The fourth beast of Daniel, ch 7 destroys and stamps the residue with hie feet.

History shows that Babylon, Media-Persia, and Greece all consolidated those peoples that they conquered into their culture.

Islam, on the other hand, says, "convert or die".

    Could fit the profile.

Islam certainly fits the profile of the Beast, but it is prophesied that Islam will be destroyed, so let us not try to fit up what we have to resemble the beast, because that Beast has been around for fourteen hundred years

What verses prophesy Isam being destroyed.
I have been wondering how Islam fits into the Bible.

Well, the beast will be destroyed, for certain.

I know of no specifie time frame for the beast to arise. It could have been here for a long time without reaching the fulfillment of its' destiny, couldn't it?

I'm merely trying pieces of the puzzle for fit.

Thanks all for that information and speculation.
    It IS very interesting.
If indeed the person who is soon-to-be the anti-Christ is alive today he could be a young man and thus has quite a few years to go and build his reputation as a peace maker and become popular enough to gain a place in the new temple.
    Peace and kindness,
    Fred

The latest mews about the coming Mahdi (who will be the anti-Christ) was just posted.
    Here is that news...
What do you make of that along with the building of the new temple news?

Ayatollah sees global Islamic 'Mahdi' army
Calls for Muslim nations to unite militarily under messianic figure

    2009 WorldNetDaily
WASHINGTON – Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei yesterday called on Muslim nations around the world to unite militarily in response to the imminent coming of Islam's messianic savior – the Mahdi.
Khamenei, through his spokesman Ali Saeedi, specifically beckoned the nations of Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan and Afghanistan to join together with Iran in preparation for the Mahdi's soon coming.
The purpose of uniting now, a report in Al Arabiya explained, is to fight Israel and the U.S. – seen as the two greatest obstacles to the coming of the Mahdi and the age of Islamic "justice" that would ensue.
"We have to train honest forces that can stop the obstacles that may hinder the coming of the Mahdi like the United States and Israel," Saeedi stated. Saeedi also emphasized that the Iranian revolutionary guard possessed a special religious authority to prepare the way for the Mahdi.

My neighbor across the street has been saying that exact thing for the past 9 months.
He says to watch for some treaty or something to be signed, I forget what he called it.

    Interesting information, Fred.

In addition to the five nations listed in this article, I think there need to be two more. That would make the 7 heads on the beast that John saw. (Heads represent governments or countries and horns represent kings)

If we see such a coalition come together with the addition of two more countries, that would look like a possibility. (Saudi Arabia and Syria, maybe?)

    Muslim leader wants Temple rebuilt

The Plain Truth: What? Muslim leader wants Temple rebuilt

I believe we will soon have a famine for the truth.

Amos 8:11-12 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

I wouldn't rush too soon into the camp of this "muslim leader" but do some research on who he actually is. The Plain Truth is not what I would call an authoritative source

I looked for this man's bio, but didn't find much.

My position is that I don't believe any non-Muslim could secure a peace agreement with Israel that would last. There have been many made and quickly broken in the past.

The Anit-Christ will make one with Israel that will last until he breaks it 3 1/2 years later.

    My idea of his profile:

    (1) He will be a prominent Muslim leader, respected by most muslims in all countries.
    (2) He will be seen as a moderate that can be dealt with by Israel, and probably most in the West.
    (3) The consummate politician that will say what everyone wants to hear and make them believe that he is sincere.

(Not attempting to identify ANYONE at this point of being the Anti-Christ.)

    galveston,
The problem with all this today is that the extremest Muslim members have a penchant to kill moderates.
So if a moderate is going to be recognized by both sides he is going to have to be and extremely charismatic person to charm all sides well.
    Peace and kindness,

Agree.. So here's the GREEN TAG I was not permitted to give you.

This entire news release appears to be publicity announcement for the author of a new book.. Just a thought of what might be the under line stunt.

    Refer:
"The Islamic Antichrist: The Shocking Truth About the Real Nature of the Beast," that returned from Turkey recently with news that a prominent Islamic teacher and best-selling author and Jewish Sanhedrin rabbis are hoping to do just that.

Adnan Oktar, who uses the pen name of Harun Yahya, is a controversial but highly influential Muslim intellectual and author with more than 65 million of his books in circulation worldwide. Oktar recently met with three representatives from the re-established Jewish Sanhedrin, a group of 71 Orthodox rabbis and scholars from Israel, to discuss how religious Muslims, Jews and Christians can work together on the project.

Mathew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)

Matthew 24:21-22 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
