    Acura,

Maybe I'm just really really dumb.. but I don't understand the question?? We are Born again Christians... Jesus wasn't talking to us.

Who will come?? Those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.

more and more, i'm thinking that sin is spiritual. not that we don't do them, but that we will to do them. as you say, about double-mindedness, we cannot serve two masters. we have to turn toward god, and will to not sin.
regarding good works, the fruit that develops through obeying the holy spirit, will be the impetus, or cause, of our will to do works of faith. i believe we can be directed by god's will, speaking to us in our hearts and minds. really, they'll be his works, through our vessel.

Cogs, Don't be deceased because we are sinners, and sin is forgiven by the blood of Christ when we repent those sins in His glory. The individual must believe in Chirst worthyness..The Word says to repent..
As for the Holy Spirit being with us as protection and power against daily sin, YES that is the ( gift ) given through the Spirit of being born again and baptism. A new life in willingness to do God's Will in obedience. Each day is a Free Will choice to live with hope and in our faith. That is why we are to think our thoughts through before doing, and follow the Will of God as in heaven.

God says we are in jeopardy every hour, and thus new life in the Spirit will guide us as Jesus does protect us. (refer: I Corinthians 15:29-30)

MY chances of going to heaven? Nil. My chances of being rewarded with everlasting life on earth? Better - as long as I follow Jesus model example and stick closely to the true God's requirements as set out in the bible and pray for constant guidance through his holy spirit. :)

    Moparbyfar,
My chances of going to heaven are for God alone to decide.
As the bible says I have HOPE for eternal salvation.

    Moparbyfar, and Acura,

My chances of going to heaven have NUTTIN to do with me. Well, other than my belief in what Jesus did for me on the cross. He saved me, washed away ALL my sin... and asked me to accept it as a free gift. WHAT A SAVIOR!

    FAITH plus NOTHING!

I have heard that Jehovah's Witnesses have it that 144,000 are going to heaven, to rule as kings all the rest which are a multitude no one is able to number, will inherit the Earth itself as a new Eden like it says in the Beatitudes

    classyT,
The bible says that a faith WITHOUT works is dead,
It tells us what works in addition to faith is needed.
    I believe the bible.
    Peace and kindness,
    Fred
