just getting that job has done wonders for my confidence. I'm 23, and that was the first 'real' job I've ever had (meaning one that required me to pay taxes). i look at it this way, most people get the petty jobs that don't last very long out of the way as teenagers. I'm just getting a late start ^_^

Loving your attitude by the way, way to stay positive :)

Hope you find another job soon :)

Hheath, do you still have some of the kittens? Have you taken any recent pictures you could share, so we can see how grown-up the kittens are now? And any info about a new job?

Still have unky, alty, spot, and zoe. Spot and unky are actually getting fixed on Thursday, but don't tell them that.

I don't have any recent pictures of alty. I haven't really been taking a lot of pictures, lately. I do have pictures of the other 3, though.

No new job, yet. Still looking.

Now, the VERY important question. Which one is unky, and which is edith?

Can you tell Edith and Unky apart (from the front)?

Yeah, but it's getting harder and harder. He's only a little smaller than her, now. It's easier for the side, he has a slightly different profile. They do have different colored eyes, which can make it easier.

From the back, they're nearly identical. His balls haven't dropped enough to be really noticeable, and they'll be gone by Thursday night.

Well, I dropped the boys off to get snipped, a couple hours ago. I pick them up this afternoon. My boys are losing their balls before they even got a chance to learn what they're for. Thank the gods.

Boys are home, and doing fine.

Spot is still a little wobbly when he walks, but it's just an act. Less than an hour after getting home, he was tearing through the entire house at top speed, chasing alty. He's seems more concerned with his mussed fur, than anything. He keeps walking around and crying, when he's not harassing alty.

Unky is still hiding under the couch, where he went as soon as I let him out of the cage. He's doing fine, though. He was walking and talking and complaining about being in a cage all the way home.

The girls are mostly fine with it. Edith and zoe don't care one way or the other. Alty hisses and spits and takes off running every time spot comes near her. He chases her, thinking it's a game, and she hisses some more. I've never heard her hiss before.

Spot just wants love. Unky wants left alone. Edith and zoe don't seem to really care one way or the other. Alty doesn't recognize the boys' scent and wants nothing to do with them.

The boys smell different. When Thomas Jefferson came home after getting fixed, he strutted into the living room and acted like nothing had changed. The other cats backed away and hissed because he smelled like the dreaded kitty doc-doc. Thomas prompted curled up in an empty box and slept for six hours.

Spot is still trying to get alty to let him near her.

And edith just told him to shut up. He's walking around crying, and she walked up and smacked him in the face, then when back to lay down.

For the last week or two, edith has been avoiding the kids, and picking fights with them when they come near her. She hisses and growls and smacks them, then runs off. I think she has either decided they're too old for her to be bothered with them, or I got the boys fixed just a little too late. I'm hoping it's the first.

Rub the boys with a hheath-smelling towel or t-shirt? They aren't that old yet to be able to be fathers, are they? I think at 8 or 9 months it gets tricky.

How did you get them there and back? Bike?

Great news that they're fixed. No more kittens, even though these ones were a joy for you and for us. :)

My friend just had her rabbit fixed yesterday. She's very concerned about him. Rabbits don't do so well with neutering or spaying. They will lick at the stitches until the come apart, or cause irritation. When Cotton got neutered they put in staples. Even though he had a cone on, he managed to get around it and pull out one of the staples. :(

I'm glad the little boys are doing good. :)

5 months is about the time you have to start worrying, and they just hit 5 months. I was keeping an eye on them, though and didn't notice any mounting behavior, and they weren't spraying, so I'm hoping my fears are just that. Fears.

I biked them there. One of the ladies that volunteers there gave me a ride home. I can't say how glad I was for the ride.

Well, at least they are well, no complications so far. :)

My dog was annoyed by the stitch too when she was spayed. Well, some time later, it came out by itself, after the cut closed. Didn't need to take her to the vet to remove it :p

    They're driving me insane.

Unky came out from under the couch, a streaking ball of blind fury, teeth, claws, and angry noises. He hasn't stopped since then. He's sitting growling to himself, and goes berserk whenever another cat comes anywhere near him.

Everyone is hissing and growling at everyone else. No one wants to be in the same room with anyone else. I'm about ready to lock them all in the bathroom and see who survives. Either that, or go toe to toe with every one and show them just WHO is queen b!tch in this house. I may come out of it with some new scars, but I WILL come out on top.
