Sounds like a classic main relay problem. Replace it and your problem should go away.
After the distributor change everything was fine... for maybe 6 months !
Then the problem came back ! After more research on the forums I found this link. Honda Accord Main Relay Location you ca do it yourself
If you're a little handy, it's been over a year and 1/2 and it has been working pefectly fine ever since. I hope this will help you ? Please let me know ?
If you take it to a honda dealer it may be on the recall list. Main relay was my first problem and the 2nd was a faulty ignition swith, which was covered under recall.
Hope this helps.
My honda did the same thing. I changed the main relay and haven't had a problem since. The guy who helped me said the relys and distributors go bad quite often
I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX, 310,000 miles. I've had it almost 3 yrs and I am having the same problem. First, it would start OK. Then if I shut it off then tried to restart, it wouldn't start. I waited 10 - 15 minutes, starts just fine. One day it wouldn't start at all after sitting all night. I ended up getting a tune up and had the distributor cap & rotor replaced. Worked fine for 5 days. Then it would start up fine.. was sitting at a light then it died. Then wouldn't restart. Turns out the ignitor (Ingnition Module went bad). The ingnitor (brain) is what tells the Ingnition coil (muscle) to fire.
This may be your problem. Hope I helped.

I originally changed my starter, battery, and both battery cables. Did online research and discovered the car wouldn't start when it got hot. In Texas that could be a problem. In the morning it would start fine but if I drove it to work I was in trouble in the afternoon. I also discovered I could jump it and if I let it sit to morning it would start right up. I finally changed the Main Relay. It's under the dash, right behind the steering wheel. It's on a bracket and has Main Relay on the side. I changed it and my baby is purrring again! Hope this helps and saves you time.
