My 1997 Buick Century was driven to store. Came out and now it won't go into gear. I hear a clicking like to wants to go into gear. Finally had to have it towed to house. Is it the transmission or maybe something else?

    Check your Brake Lights.

Have checked all fuses, brake lights come on, I can get it out of park and into gears but won't move. I can hear like it wants to but won't. Can feel it faintly shifting into drive and reverse but won't move. When I went to store, it was working fine. Checked fluid and it is full and looks fine. Even reset brain to see what would happen.

No fluid leaking. Checked first. What is strange is that it was working just fine and now this. Crazy. Fluid doesn't smell burnt or anything.

Going to jack up and look at axle like another person suggested. Said it may be the ds axle.
Will let you know. Give me awhile to see

Just jacked it up and put it into neutral then drive and wheels turned forward, then put it into reverse and it stopped. Repeated it again and it did the same thing.

I would remove the bottom cover and check the Tranny Filter, You may see more than normal particles/flakes.
    It should tell you something.
    Did you try TxGreaseMonkeys suggestion?

I have the same problem with my car, a 2000 Ford Taurus, but I find that if I put the key in the ignition and try to shift into park without pushing the locked brake pedal (of course unsuccessfully, as the car is in no way on) it will stay in a little place that is still park, but like way over visually. I then turn the key and the shifting apparatus thing pops up, then I start the engine, and I am able to shift perfectly.
    Hope this helps :)

I have a 2008 yaris and the car starts but when its running all dash lights come up. My car will not go into drive, and all service lights are on . I am not sure what is the problem, I called a shop and they told me it could be a neutral safety switch, it could be the factory alarm has activated, or it could be a brake switch.

    Any help would be great!

overcmarinedar, test all under dash and under hood fuses, first, with a test light or multimeter.
