To safely replace the relay all you have to do is cycle the key off and remove it.
Once you've located the relay simply replace it.
That's the easy part but it may or may not help with your idle problem.

It may. I'd test that first since a relay is fairly inexpensive.
If it doesn't work, at least you'll eliminate one item.
