Changing the fuel pump in 98 Honda Accord
I have the fuel pump. How do I get to it and what kind of tools do I need? I'm a girl and I have to do this because I can't afford to pay anyone to do it. I need as much help as I can get. ;)

Tell us what symptoms your car is exhibiting. The fuel pump is not likely the culprit. I say that because I've never seen a bad Honda fuel pump, even though many suspect them as the source of their problem and replace them needlessly.

If you want to have at it, this link should help:

I'd recommend that you perform these tests first:

Here's another important link I'd suggest you read, before replacing the fuel pump:

For sure TEST OR RULE OUT EVERY AND I MEAN EVERY OTHER POSSIBILITY! Relays, wiring, shorts, filters, bad hoses, kinked hoses... test relays by jumping hot and ground together... listen, you'll be able to tell if its working... check for melted wires, frays, tears, fuses, then check fuel filter or filters... check all your hoses... supply and return... now unhook supply fuel line (put out the cig.) have someone turn the key forward and see if you are getting fuel... watch out though... I'd put the hose in something... be careful... common sense. You should have good pressure. If its low... maybe a filter... if none... AND ALL OTHER CAUSES HAVE BEEN RULED OUT... I MEAN EVERYTHING... ignition module, plugs, wires, the dad gum muffler! My kids put an easter egg in my muffler this year!! EVERYTHING! Sorry... lol... now the back seat might come out for easy pump access... if not you got to drop the tank. Better get some help, that's work! Get a chilton's from the library... they help... you will figure it out... but it will drive you nuts... lol imagine how good it will feel to get it done yourself! Good luck
