Are there any templates online for proposing an online job? I'm a certified optician and was wondering if I could send out letters to Optical shops to propose to them to give me an online insurance billing job.

No, you don't need to be licensed to do Optical Insurance Billing, but I am.

And no I don't know any others doing this work, it was just an idea that I had.

What are the specifics concerning the ideas you have as to how you might want to do this type of business online for both the optical offices and maybe the clients, please?

Please know, that I'm all for your using your skills in order to make money. However, I don't know all that might be involved with what you're wanting to do.

If I know those specifics, I'm sure that I can give you ideas for the proposal as well as marketing what you have to offer.

I don't really understand your question. I'd just install their software on my computer, have them email me the billings or I'd go pick them up and sit home on my computer and bill their insurance.

Who would be doing the printing of the billings, if they would need to be printed out for a hard copy, please?

I would assume that there would need to be a hard copy somewhere for back-up and maybe legalities that might be involved.

Most insurance websites allow doctors and opticians to bill via their site so they have hard copies if need be. When I was last an Optician every office I knew was going completely paperless.

Even though they went paperless, were the files backed-on microfilm or on a secure computer database other than on the ones where the files originated?

They were saved on floppy discs.

My suggestion would be for you to personally visit some places, that are within a reasonable driving distance, where you think the potential is there for them to use your services. That would be a feasability study/inquiry.

If some of them would like to use your services, or indicate that they might use them in the future, then it would be reasonable and feasible for you to consider writing a proposal for offices that are further away.

In any regard, what you would be offering them would need to be competitive in prices as compared to what they're already paying for the type of service that you would like to provide.

I already know that this is something that some doctors might be interested in. I was asked to write a proposal for this. That is the reason for my question.

Then, what you'll need is a letterhead and a format for a proposal. The format for the proposal would be similar to what someone might use for a cover letter.

Which "skin" for the site are you using, Momma?

I don't know. I didn't know there was more than one.

If you go to your Profile, you'l find the Edit Options and click on it. From there, you can try out the various skins.

I think the one that I'm using is called Default Style. Anyway, it's very colorful and red or orange (depending on your monitor), all the way around the outside edge on each page.

There's a lot more options that you can see using that skin.

It would seem that we're using the same skin, I think, anyway...

With that skin, I'm able to see all of my messages.

Here's another thought though. Try clicking on your name in this thread and then View Public Profile. You should see it a different way then just going to My Profile.

The idea is to be able to work on, and attach to posts, what you'll really submit to offices without your personal information showing up when people use a search engine.

NO, that does not work. Why would I post my personal information?

You would post it in an attachment so that I can review how it looks. That's all. You wouldn't need to put your personal information in it. But, it would be good to see if the name and address of whomever you're sending it to is correct. As well as checking all other formatting and spelling.

Whatever's on the attachment wouldn't be visible on this thread. Someone would need to click on the attachment and have the correct program in order to read what's on the attachment.

Well, if you couldn't open it, then it looks like you don't have Excel. It might work in another format, though.

You didn't think that you had Excel, so I wasn't sure you did or not.

What I wrote as a format for you was but one example. And, I also wrote that it would need to be "tweeked".

Spacing between lines and paragraphs, centering of certain parts and the overall appearance of the proposal and your resume is also important.

There are good and not so good of ways concerning the formatting of the appearance of documents.

Id like to add something at this point. I wouldn't send any resume out to clients. You don't need to and you would be cheapening yourself by doing so. Your best line is to sound super positive and make sure you can follow up on anything claimed. The proposal is like a contract. So really you need to get your foot in the door first to start the relationship.

The strength of a resume can also be something that "nails" a person getting a job, especially if it holds verifiable information as to having successfully done a certain type of job.

The problem I have is that this isn't really for a job. Its more inline with contract labor. And having been through a simaler situation I have seen the outcomes of both. The idea is to stress experience and confidence without showing all your cards. That way you can be flexible in negotiations with a customer. Each one is going to be unique and you need to set yourself apart from the crowd.
