Smile as though your heart was never broken...
Dance as though you would never tire...
Live as if it were your last day on earth...
(Just a few of my own paraphrases of that famous poem... )
Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass... it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
Here's one for all the lovely Ladies on here :)
"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of sh1t."
Got to spread the love, but I had to print that to give to a close friend going through some rough times. Her thanks.
"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what."
Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
The occasion was Atticus Finch speaking to his children after the death of Mrs. DuBois. She had Cancer, and was medically addicted to Morphine. Even though she was in great pain, she vowed to free herself of the addiction "even if it killed her, and it did."
In the previous chapter, Jem and Scout (Jean Louise) were impressed when Atticus shot and killed a rabid dog.
Tis better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.
"As old as she was, she still missed her Daddy sometimes..."
Only Robinson Crusoe finished everything by Friday...

The dread pirate Roberts takes no survivors
There is a story related in three of the four gospels where the religious authorities try to trap Jesus in his words by asking if they should pay taxes to Caesar.
The Romans were a hated occupying power. If Jesus said yes, he would have lost all his credibility with the common people, and if he answered no, they would turn him over to the Romans for advocating tax avoidance.
Here is Jesus classic answer, as told by Mark:
Quote:
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
Mark 12:13-18
Many times the best answer to a question is another question. The Book of Genesis says God made man in his own image. Jesus reply was more than a novel way to get out of a conundrum, the implied question he was asking was "Whose image is on YOU?"
"I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here"

When a man buys a new hat , he wants one just like the one he had before.
But a woman isn't that way!
With jeans... when I find a good new pair, I buy two... and look all over town if they get too rattered and tattered for at least the same brand! Friend... is this really yer impression of ladies? Can we ever really be happy? Is that what you are saying? YES WE CAN! :):)
"If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started."
--Marcus Garvey
I heard this when I was about 13 and have carried it with me since.
