    A few for HC during this difficult time;

So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
    Fly on proud bird
    You're free at last.

"You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember only that she's gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what she'd want,
smile, open you eyes, love and go on."

We're all thinking of you HC. :)

I didn't think I had any tears left, but thank you Alty dear for bringing even more.

I love you. Thank you, dear.

It just seemed to "end" without "ending." (Does that make sense?)

So, I wrote my own ending for the poem. I'll be reading this at the funeral. Thought I'd share. My words are underlined.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I have gone, I've climbed the steps in the sky

Greive for a while, but do not for long
I'm Home! My flight is my song.
Seek comfort in the stars, in the quiet evening light
For I shall be there, never alone in the night.

Take care of my prince, for he was my love,
My children, my heritage, my gifts from above.
In the Arms of my King, over yonder I shall wait
My mansion, my crown, my glorious, ransomed fate.

My saviour has called and I have come home
I bid you adieu, but shall never leave you alone.

    My love will follow you,
    My joy shall strengthen you,
    My history shall encourage you,
    My God shall comfort you.

I had to spread the Rep HC but that is BRILLIANT!! Love it!

Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
    he wrote a poem
And he called it 'Chops' because that was the name of his dog
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him and A
    and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And he let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
Valentine signed with a row of X's
and he had to ask his father what the X's meant
And his father always tucked him in bed at night
And was always there to do it

Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
    he wrote a poem
    And he called it 'Autumn'
because that was the name of the season
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door because of the new paint
    And the kids told him
    that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister go glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
And the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to go see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him into bed at night
    And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it

Once on a paper torn from his notebook
    he wrote a poem
And he called it "Innocence: A Question"
because that's what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
    and a strange steady look
And his mother never hung it in the kitchen door
because he never showed it to her
That was the year that Father Tracy dided
And he forgot how the end
    of the Apostle's Creed went
    And he caught his sister
making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
    or even talked
And the girl around the corner
    wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
    but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three A.M. he tucked himself into bed
    his father snoring soundly

That's why on the back of a brown paper bag
    he tried another poem
And he called it "Absolutely Nothing"
Because that's what it was really all about
And he gave himself an A
and a slash on each wrist
And he hung it on the bathroom door
because this time he didn't think
    he could reach the kitchen

Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today. James Dean

Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

This is a personal quote that I saw the other day and realize the truth of it.

"People have looked for happiness everywhere. They have traveled to the corners of the earth. They have spoke to world's wisest people. They have read thousands of books. The problem is that finding happiness is only in one place, and that place is the hardest to look at. It is within yourself."
