Gee bushg, I'm honored and touched, actually brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad you liked it enough to post it here. :)
"Some people take a lifetime to make an impact on someone, and some people are so special, they glow, and only need a moment to impact you for the rest of your life. You my dear glow."
Alty I promise you I am not stalking you, but you did it again with these beautiful insightful words to Chery.
Woo Hoo... thanks alty :pQuote:

But, when I'm talking to all of you they just come pouring out (yes M, I know, pouring and pouring and pouring out ;)).
Thanks for posting my words Bushg. :)
I was an English major. I even wrote a book (any publishers out there?) but I have had the same, simple favorites for years.
My favorite - and I have loved this since I was a child, I turned and said these words to my husband on our wedding day and I said them at his graveside - "Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die—there will I be buried. May the Lord do thus and so to me, and more as well, if even death parts me from you!"
It's Ruth 1:16-17.
"Where you die, I will die" is inscribed on our tombstone.
And the runner up would be: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" [Edmund Burke]
Here's a couple more I've been saving:
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Winston Churchill
"There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self." Aldous Huxley
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." Aesop
Awesome, Cap'n! :)
Love the Aesop quote - had to give more reps before I gave you another greenie ;)
Ike didn't hit... darn... couldn't evac to "prettier," more interesting sides of the state...
"The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own."

See certain situations in a better perspective in the past:

"Have a happy heart Start"
My husbands grandma is failing... I can hardly think of her without tears. We are all so close, she is 91 almost 92. She is the MOST beautiful woman I have ever had in my life.
I don't even want to imagine my life or my kids life without the constant positivity she shows us all. I have to come to terms... and like she always tells me to "Have a happy heart."

'Nothing happens unless first we dream.'
For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.
