There are a few that I love and have touched my life.

When I was a teenager, ny best friend's mom used to write quotes on the bathroom mirror of their house. A few have stuck with me:

"People are like tea bags. They're not worth much till they've been through some hot water."

"Success is getting up one more time than you fell down."

    Now my personal favs are:

"I'm not who you think I am. I am not who I think I am. I am who I think you think I am."

There are many more, but these are the ones that stick out in my head.

On the importance of making up one's mind. Indecision... a real killer!

Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
    Franklin P. Jones

This one's for you HC cause I know you love shakespeare.

They do not love that do not show their love. The course of true love never did run smooth. Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love.
    William Shakespeare

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer

But oh! The blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.

    ~Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859

Here's sort of a similar thought to the one above, but in a slightly different sense. I am unsure of the author.

"Let's remember that if we are idealists when we wake up every morning we will work harder to change our world. And if we remain realists we will be able to sleep at night knowing we did all we could for that day."

    When it's raining, Dance.
When it feels like you cannot go on, Sing.
When you feel betrayed and hurt, Love.
When your world is crashing down, Stand.
    When life is uncertain, Grow.
When cares weigh heavy upon your heart, Soar.
When it seems only darkness awaits, Shine.
When sadness surrounds your soul, Smile.

Just a few thoughts of mine on this dreary, rainy day.

I was thinking about it and it seems as though you could also say...

    Don't cry because it happened...
    Smile because it's over...

Inspirational poetry cards that are available online these days have many inspiring quotes. I have come across many quotes like "Every cloud has a silver lining", "God helps those who help themselves", "Where there is a will, there's a way" and many more such inspiring words.

Anyways... We all have favorite quotes, quotes that have touched a chord in our hearts and minds, quotes that have influenced our decisions, inspired us to go that extra mile, give us courage to face the day, and shown us what real living is like.

Lets share these divine inspirations with our little world here - on this little posting. I'll start with one of my all-time favorites....

Being a star-gazer myself and being the proud owner of a tempestuous personal history, this is one of my favorites - it reminds me that no matter what is swirling around me at a given time, I can get through it.

Orion, that is one of my faves up there. I love it!
Clough, your quote is so true, ever see a kid pick out something at a cany store filled with only candy? Or a toy at a big toy store? Oh the pain... ;)

I just stumbled across this, tonight. Don't know who the author was. However, it does seem to be pretty much just common sense.
