Yea, sorry my reply was late, but it was difficult finding the right words to say, and I wanted to do right by starby :)

Bear, everyone handles death differently. I'm sure that many people won't post, not because they don't care, but because it's too hard.

You did right by Starby. You could never do wrong. Just being who you are, that's all we need. :)

Unky, Starby actually sent that picture to me once. She loved it, thought it was hilarious. It is.

When I scrolled down and saw the huge picture of Jo the tears just started running down my cheeks. I will keep her "friend" status on my profile forever.

I will be picking up the card today, to send to her family.

If there's anything anyone would like me to add, just write it here. Perhaps underline "For Starby's card" and then write what you would like me to include.

I'll be sending it off come Wednesday.

I love that flashlight photo Unky, very funny ;)

I've been off the boards for a while due to my mother's deteriorating health only to find out about Starby.

She will be missed. I still can't quite believe it.

May you rest in peace, Starby.

I have hundreds of emails from Starby, I've been going through them this last week. I posted some of the funny ones, read through some of the ones where we just chatted.

I would get dozens of emails every day, funny pictures, videos, some that just said "thank you for being a friend".

    I saved them all.

    I'm glad I did.

Here's one that she sent me.

She loved sending stuff like that.

Every day I'd open my email and find tons of stuff from her. Some sappy, most hilarious.

She loved to laugh. That's what she'd want us to do.

So Starby, I'll do my best to bring a smile to everyone's face, just like you always did for me.

I could be so sad, so down, but she'd lift me up, every time. She never let me down, and I'll do my best to not let her down either.

Only 20? More like 1500, then she'd start a new thread to continue. ;)

I'm always at a loss for words at funerals and it's ironic that the words when broken differently down say "fun" er al.

By all means, it's not fun. It's kind of odd that the only time some families get together is at weddings and funerals.

Well, it looks as if she didn't suffer too long. It's just too bad that things were taken away from her.

I wonder what these discussions would have been like, if Starby could have participated.

Maybe the two things she liked most is AMHD and the dog. Once you loose the things/people/animals you care about, the energy drains.

This thread should be a wake up call for anyone involved with liver damage and alcohol.

At least she probably got to say goodby to a few friends. I didn't when my father passed away. I didn't realize just how bad non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma really was. One day hospital procedure, then coma and a few days later respirator disconnect.

Bye Starby. Say hi to my father for me. Thanks. <cry>

KISS, my dad died of the same thing, same way. The lymphoma spread to his liver, he died shortly thereafter.

It's hard to find words. You did well.

    Hugs dear.

    Hugs back.

The procedure was a thoreocenthesis where they drain fluid from his lungs and didn't turn on the oxygen. I found the oxygen off about 5 hours later. We later found out that the senior resident did the procedure and he punctured his lung. We only found out by getting written hospital notes. The hand written notes were way to hard to read. All we got is the cancer came back aggressively, probably because they withheld a chemo treatment because of a non-existant heart problem.

I loved the vampire one, mainly because J9 was completely fooled. She though Jo had completely lost it. Heck, she reported it.

    When J9 PM'd me about it I laughed myself silly. I just PM'd back with this;

    "J9, what day is it?"

That was the funniest part of it. I swear I laughed so hard that a little pee came out. :)

J, sorry, had to tell it. Love you lady. Don't report me. :o

M, what about Genie Tahlia and all the fun with that?

All the castle threads, the antics, the fun, the duck and her poor feather.

She loved being the duck, loved our chats.

Stringer and I were always trying to cook her, but she always escaped.

    I'll remember that always. :)

    Another email Starby sent me.

A sharp tongue can cut my own throat.
If I want my dreams to come true, I mustn't over sleep.
Of all the things I wear, my expression is the most important.
The best vitamin for making friends... B1.
The happiness of my life depends on the quality of my thoughts.
The heaviest thing I can carry is a grudge.
One thing I can give and still keep... is my word.
I lie the loudest when I lie to myself.
If I lack the courage to start, I have already finished.
One thing I can't recycle is wasted time.
Ideas won't work unless 'I' do.
My mind is like a parachute... it functions only when open.
The 10 commandments are not a multiplechoice.
The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime!
It is never too late to become what I might have been.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

So love the people who treat you right.

Forget about the one's who don't.

Believe every thing happens for a reason.

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.

If it changes your life, let it.

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away.

Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong.

Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late.

I don't want to let that happen so I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.
