But still, they made it "orangey/ barfey" So not all of them are yellow. Thye probably tried to make it "goldish" but I can safely say that their attempt was what one would call an "Epic Fail"

Lol! Maybe there wasn't a way to make yellow in the 1890s and the closest they could get was orange.:p

Well if there wasn't then, they could certainly correct it now.
And one more thing, WHY would they make scented pencils?
    Who sniffs pencils? Really?

Maybe they kept it yellow for tradition's sake. People sniff weird things.. why not pencils?
A lot of weird things come scented. My sister bought a toothbrush with a scented handle. Lol

Also, I think scented small objects are a really dumb idea, crayons, pencils, erasers. Anything that can be shoved up a nostril should NOT be scented. Simply because people are idiots. At they very least they should have a warning label on these products saying
"WARNING: Do not shove up your nose, and they're not flavored either, so don't be an idiot and try to eat them"

I should get a job making warning labels. :D

Here Why Are Erasers Pink? | eHow.com it says:

"While the majority of modern erasers are manufactured from synthetic materials, making color a matter of preference, originally the eraser's color was the result of its ingredients. "
