I'm sure that you know what I mean! ;)
;)
I am so glad I started this thread... I had not imagined this happening when I started it.. :)
It could go on for a very long time! I am glad that you started this thread! It is a place for certain types of us to share! We are one, here! :)Quote:

I'm going to be in this thread for as long as it exists I reckon, hoping it lasts forever :)
Yes! We are one! It is a good place to be, Sean! You do have friends and people like yourself, here!
Lol I'm glad I'm part of this ^.^. And wow I didn't know that other people did the paper by their bed thing. I carry a note pad with me everywhere too cause that's when I get most of my ideas, just looking at my surroundings.
Good Morning sweets...
This thread is a wonderful place. I enjoy it every time I step in! Nice work... all of you!
Here's my contribution to the thread, I've been too shy 'till now so don't be mean! :o
Also this is my first attatchment attempt so there is a high muck up possibility
Wow I'm shocked it actually worked! I haven't watermarked it because I don't own the image rights anyway.
Omg that's beautiful! Did you do that Templelane? Is that water color?
Sorry should have said it's acrylic on canvas. Although acylic can enter some watercolour competitions (which I will never, ever understand). I did it because I wanted the image for a poster but it hadn't been produced and I couldn't be bothered to find a printers to do it for me.
Well it's beautiful! You are much better with acrylics then I am! Those paints drive me nuts cause you can never know if it's really dry before you try to put paint over it. I perfer tempra myself... and my teacher is teaching me egg tempra. But again beautiful painting ^.^. Would you mind if I put it as a background on my computer? I'm a cat fanatic.
Sure I don't mind. The trick for knowing if it's dry is to tilt the paper towards a light. It's more relective when it's still wet. I have never used tempra, my school wasn't very adventurous with what materials we could use- oils were banned so I never learnt how to use them. They banned acylics for awhile as well. Don't get any time to paint these days but if I ever do I'm going to try those mediums out.
Well even when you tilt it and see a reflection it doesn't mean it's dry. I've started painting shadows on my painting and then the paint under it comes up even if it looked dry.
Glad to see you posting here again! I agree this thread is a wonderful place and people like you make it that way. You are always so kind! Hope to see more posts from you. I know there are a lot of threads out there but I am always happy to see you post here!Quote:

Templelane, what an amazing talent you have! Although I understand being shy about posting because I felt that way in the beginning, please don't ever be shy to post on this thread. You did a great job with the attachment.Quote:

The perspective you had to achieve with this piece, since the hands and cats were projected forward would have been difficult for me! You did great. Did you work from a photograph?? I am anxious to see more of your work!
This is a great thread to be a part of and I am so grateful to FirmBeliver for starting this thread and for all those who have made this such a warm place to be!!
Yeah I worked from a photo! I love the fast drying of acrylics, I also like how fresh the colours are. Although sometimes I wish I could get the depth that can be achieved with oils, acylics sometimes seem a bit flat and pop arty.
Do you have any acylics up? I had a look but I only found your necklace (very nice by the way) I got a bit behind on the thread for a bit and forgot where I stopped reading.
I might post some more stuff if I locate pictures, I don't own a most of my stuff and seem to have had poor record keeping!
I would like to second the Firmbeliever thread starter appreciation!
I agree with jan you are a wonderful painter templelane I hope you find more of your work soon because you are so good! I envy all your guy's talents my talents are no where near this good yet!
And a third cheers to firmbeliever! And cheers to craige and jan for inviting me to the thread! THANKS AGAIN GUYS ^.^
I Love Firmy!
I do have some acrylics posted. Goodness, can't remember for sure which ones. I have an Ostrich Egg posted, an acrylic painting of my son-in-law's dog, Zoe, a Bernese Mt. Dog. and some dipper gourd vases Imade, a Thumb Piano, etc. Most of what I have posted are my pencils. Penicls seem to be my niche! Glad you liked the potato necklace. It was fun but time consuming.Quote:

Omg you guys got me hyped up somehow ^.^ I want to paint now so bad!! Unfortunately all I have is a sketch pad and nothing to paint on T.T... makes me sad! Guess I could draw though huh ^.^ oh hey is anyone here a fan of Amy Brown or Jessica Galbert?
Okay serious question! Does anyone know anything about painting china? I collect chinese and japanese teasets (Two very nice ones are in my collection so far). Does anyone know if there are kits or anything that come with the china and some paints so that you can paint your own sets? Here's an example (This is my gaisha wear set! I love this thing)

Jess, try these links.
All of those were more kiddy stuff... and it didn't tell what kind of paints to use. I make a lot of pottery myself but I normally glaze cause the only paints my teacher said you could use to paint glazed or unglazed pottery was acrylic... but it peels off already glazed pottery. If you don't glaze it and paint then it takes forever if the surface of the pot is not completely smooth. Besides I don't think I could make anything with porcelian myself :/ I am just so used to working with earth clay... I've heard porcelian is much softer and harder to work with...
These are great! Thanks so much! You know I just looked around my room at all my artistic hobbies and I'm wondering if I don't have to many XD
here's one that I did that is inspired by mcr's black parade album (one of the best bands eva :)
and here's just a random page out of my sketchbook :)
like to see more of you guys stuff, you all so talented :)
Hi, Sean!
Great and interesting stuff as usual!
Are you okay?
Craig
Uummmm I guess I'm okay, I'm not great, but I'm all right I guess.
Thanks for caring :)
Does doing art help you to work out things that concern you in life?
Kind of, it can be good just to put the feelings onto paper at times, and it is relaxing.
I can remember when I was your age and younger, I would shut all the doors that I could to the big room where our electric organ was and just wail away with improvising on chords to express myself how I felt about things. I would make myself cry. It was a great tension reliever!
I do the same thing in that I sit down and will look straight ahead and my fingers will just go across my keyboard and produce poetry to let out my feelings. "The Mask" is just about the most hate filled poem I have ever written, I let it out when I was just really really mad at school.
Just wanted to say hi to everyone - I'll step back in when I have a little more time to actually catch up and read. Hope everyone is doing OK!
