    Picasso original?
Hello. I know it's crazy but... when cleaning out my uncle's estate I came across a portfolio of prints and found this Picasso that looks like it could be an original! My aunt and her sister were artists and came from a family of artists - I haven't been able to find out much about this particular print - only one link saying he did this subject in 1901 and it's title was Pierrot, however when googling that title it brings up another image. The paper is like a brown construction paper. Also, my mother had a smaller version framed in her basement for years but it's not identical to the one that's unframed. There are differences. Also on the same brown construction like paper. Also I communicated with another person that I found looking for the same information with the same thought that perhaps she had an original - same brown type construction paper. My theories: an art class with an assisgnment to recreate a picasso? Printing trials? Did Picasso ever make multiples of his work before printing them for sale? Please help! This is driving me crazy! Mary

Sorry to disappoint I highly doubt that this is a Picasso. He is notorious for not signing prints, and when comparing the signature to ones in books and online there is an obvious difference. Your theories about the painting are probably correct. While in college studying for a BFA you wouldn't believe how many works I was required to copy! That said... If you like it, frame it and hang it!

Could this be an original ? [ 2 Answers ]

This painting has glossy brush strokes.. looks like canvas when viewed from the back... at the side it seems that there are two layers.. The label naming the artist is on the back of the frame. I can't see a signature anywhere. Any Ideas would be appreciated... thanks, Kim

I'm 16, and dated this girl who was 18 for 4 months. We had a great relationship, and things seamed to be going perfectly until one day I get a text message saying she would call me when she got out of work. She apparently needed sometime to think, and the next day she just decided to break up with...
