Could this be an original ?
This painting has glossy brush strokes.. looks like canvas when viewed from the back... at the side it seems that there are two layers.. The label naming the artist is on the back of the frame. I can't see a signature anywhere. Any Ideas would be appreciated... thanks, Kim

You shouldn't expect any sort of definitive suggestion as to its originality in this site.
Unless one confirms his/her authentic credentials, you are much better to investigate yourself.
You might learn something about the author... the painter and whether he lists his works by name.

There are many 'on-site' locations where artists work is tabulated. If you are Canadian, one site to enquire at is the Royal Ontario Museum"...(ROM) in Toronto. They keep such lists of artists and their works. I do know they answer questions in many magazine editions.
They also do check on whether the work is legitimately a work of art or a facsimile....as in a print.
They, of course, charge for such investigation....but can be trusted to give a thorough look-see.

Another site.....The Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto will certainly answer questions on an artist.

Besides these two sites, many large centers throughout the U.S. have such galleries that will give you information on an artist. Many large newspapers have such "art" editors on staff and may give authoritative advice on an artist's work.

From there you can decide whether your work is worth being investigated.

If you are close to where the "Antique Roadshow" might be.....you could write in and ask whether they will be in a place close to you when next they do a show.
Their website would undoubtedly tell you when and where the next show will emanate from.

I also have a couple of "prints" that I have become very fond of.....and one, I found out is considered one of "The Masters"... of 18th century The Netherlands.
The reason why I kind of got excited about one of them was that I bought it at auction... actually, I bought another picture... and the print was hidden behind it.
Well, you know what happens when something is hidden... and you got to ask yourself why... sugar plums and great fortunes dance in your head...
Maybe... just maybe... who knows, stranger things have happened.

I'm doing some research at the present time on two works... prints they are, but nice prints...
Besides, I like them for what they are doing to my wall so even if they are worth only a couple dollars, I love them.

The painting that you have almost certainly is a print or duplicate painting of the original. It is listed in a number of places on the Internet. Duplicates or prints of it do seem to fetch a pretty good monetary value, depending on the size of them and whether they are framed or not. A number of examples of it being listed on the Internet are below. The original, from what I have found, is most likely in a private collection somewhere and so the original is most likely not available when people do searches for it on the Internet. However, to be sure, it would be good to take it to an art museum or an auctioneer for verification. I saved the complete image of it to my computer, manipulated it in a number of ways and was not able to find a signature on it.
